Hey all,
Today we’ve discovered an issue with Quickplay Matchmaking. We are actively investigating the depth of the issue, and currently believe that neither connection nor skill are being factored correctly when forming matches. PvP Design Lead Derek Carroll has more information on our next steps:
With the release of Update 1.2.3, we introduced 6v6 Quickplay with a bug that causes skill-matching and potentially connection-matching to fail in that playlist. This results in much faster – but lower-quality – matches than normal. Our plan for the immediate future is to take no immediate action, monitor the health of the playlist, take notes, and ready a potential fix. We will inform the community with our findings and if we make a change, you will be the first to know (just like this time).
2 RepliesPlease fix this back to Connection/SBMM. There are sort-of-average players like myself who just want to do quickplay for fun. At the moment this is absolutely not fun and you will lose these players in PvP. Piss poor connections and playing against vastly superior players is not fun for everyone (I do that appreciate some people like a challenge). You should not have to 'monitor the health of the playlist' to anticipate this. You should be trying to fix this now. I know your busy but there is no point releasing a PvE/PvP mode in Forsaken that is suppose to have a broad appeal if you can't run your basic matchmaking properly. High end players have high end PvP content and plenty of it. Don't take away the one thing that us filthy casuals enjoy PvP wise. Also did no one proof read that update from Derek? From the tone of the post I basically can't expect even a proper reaction to this for weeks. And the attitude of the post is basically 'screw casuals, we can't be bothered'. Seriously guys, you were getting back in the swing of things! The redux missions are awesome. Whisper is awesome (except for being time gated). But then this happens at the same time that you have gated Solstice progress behind PvP as well and the response from Bungie is this? Don't spoil the goodwill you've been building back up.
