Between completing Solstice and Triumphs a person needs to complete nightfalls and raids. Not everyone has access to fireteams to be able to do these. So many people wont be able to gain from even trying the grinds. Whats the point in chasing half an armor set? So Once again - thanks Bungie for screwing the average player.

So many people ignore the fact that they are mixing and matching content. And it screws players consistently. I don't want your raid gear, raiders. I don't want your trials gear, competitive players. So stop bitching about people asking to simply have seasonal or event gear that is associated with the activities they like to play. That is not a new concept to destiny. Stop acting like solo players are asking for the -blam!-ing moon. Good post OP.

3 RepliesRaids are not meant to be a Solo event. I'm primarily a Solo'er and I accept that I don't/Won't do them. High light level is not needed unless you are doing these activities and the gear is mediocre anyway.

5 RepliesIt's been said every time a thread like this is started, and it's still true: BY DESIGN, DESTINY IS NOT A GAME YOU CAN "COMPLETE" ALONE. There are many games out there that can be completed by solo players, Destiny is NOT one of those. It's a good thing, it's diversity of choice. If you are a solo player, and for whatever reason you want to remain a solo player in a multiplayer game, YOU have to accept that certain rewards are unattainable, you are NOT entitled to have every group endgame activity emptied and made irrelevant because you want the loot without doing them. With D2's launch, Bungie tried to remove "envy and toxicity" from the game by making everything either randomly obtainable whatever players did, or irrelevant if it was too inconvenient to get. It was a naive experiment and made Destiny shallow, bland and lifeless. It boiled down to grinding public events because that was the most efficient way to get everything and level up. It nearly killed the game. All so it could coddle the problem solo player (not every solo player, the fragile problem player who wants everything to revolve around him). Endgame group activities need their own loot. Difficult activities need good loot. Shortcuts to this same loot, which solo activities would be, would make endgame group activities pointless. That's not Bungie screwing solo players, that's just an unavoidable consequence. Fortunately, you do not have to go it alone. There are clans, many LFG websites (including Bungie's own), XBox Live has clubs and LFG services, The100 is a friendly, free clan/LFG service. You have so many options to get teammates for one-off or regular games, options that have been sucessfully used by hundreds of thousands of players. All you need is out there, if you want it. If you want it. If you don't, it's your self-inflicted problem.

You only need to do these activities to obtain the masterwork versions, you can obtain all the armour solo.

Namely the part not being recognized is this one.
Not everyone has access to fire teams to be able to do these.
Which is not commentary on the game not being solo viable in its entirety. Instead it's taking issue with the game not making it as easy as it possibly can to get all players to do them. Which is certainly the case, and it's a terrible shame. Despite what those replying seem to think.

As much as I hate elitists...this is not the game for exclusively solo players. I prefer to play alone but I also like this game so I suck it up every once in awhile and raid. I joined a clan. They’re good guys. They put up with my mediocre less-than-skilled playstyle and they allow me to join in to get things done. In return when there are times they need a warm body regardless of skill I try to help out if I am the only player available. It was the same when I played Everquest. I was terrible at the game but I joined a guild full of good people and they seemed to enjoy helping people out. I made friends and would group up or raid and get loot on occasion. It was nice. Explore outside of your comfort zone. You might find you like a firm mattress even better than the soft down-filled one you’re used to.

Everyone has the same access. If you dont do endgame stuff, you shouldnt get endgame rewards. That includes Solstice gear.
