Crucible Labs Feedback

If you have feedback on our latest experiment mode in Crucible Labs, please leave it here. The mode we are testing is Lockdown, and it will be available until the next weekly reset. Senior Designer Andrew Welden explained how it works in this weeks TWAB. [quote] Lockdown is a new 4v4 round-based Competitive mode that, like Control, is about capturing and holding zones. Unlike Control, your only score comes from playing the objective. Those of you from the Taken King/Rise of Iron era know this mode’s predecessor, the Control variant “Zone Control.” Here’s how it plays out: Both teams start Lockdown with a “Progress” percentage of 0% displayed under the scoreboard. Once a team holds two zones, progress will begin ticking up for that team at a rate of 1% per second. There is no round timer—the first team to reach 100% will win the round, and the first to win three rounds will win the match. That’s not all, though—if a team can successfully capture all three zones, they will instantly win the round, regardless of each team’s progress state. A well-coordinated push from your opponents will always be dangerous, which means you need to stay focused on your objective. However, winning a round that way is not necessarily as simple as it might seem. To earn capture progress or win on the triple cap, you must hold uncontested zones. If a team holds two zones, you can fully halt their progress by contesting one or more zones (you’ll see “PROGRESS HALTED” display under the scoreboard to let you know this is happening). They won’t start earning score again until they clear you and your progress off the point(s). The same applies when going for the triple cap lockdown—the instant win only applies if all three zones are completely clear.   • Very enjoyable but I think 3 captures should start a count down for losing team to capture a zone say 15-20 seconds. Quicker spawns like instantly. I think a mode similar were capture points alternate all over the map to make a more strategic game mode

  • Feels more like a quick play mode but can see how 6 people would make it rather difficult. I would like to see it as a rotating playlist and maybe try it with 6v6 as a quick play mode.

    • Lockdown =💦💦💦😃😃😃😁😁😁 Sweaty goodness with a D1 feel. Myself amoung many of my other comp playing guardian budies love this game mode. Please add it to the rotation in Comp and Trials!!

      • I really liked the game mode. I initially didn't think I would like the round based scoring, but given how fast rounds felt I think it works perfectly. My only qualm is that it isn't a permanent mode and it'll eventually be put into the competitive playlist. Currently competitive = unfun. Lastly, I would like say more objective type game modes would be greatly appreciated in the future. PS. I rarely post on on these forums, but I felt the need to show that these type of crucible modes would make play it more.

      • Remove all existing crucible 1st and fix all the issues from... Balancing Better servers aka DEDICATED SERVERS Time To Kill being reduced effectively Better Spawning Better skilled matchmaking Ban DDOS bacteria Ban lag switchers Less teamshooting Introduce more skill potential for solo players to make plays Maps to suit solo players Solo ranked options for Competitive and for Trials.... what if some people are hearing impaired or can't actually speak. Or have confidence issues with party chat or game chat. After all this is done then talk about new game modes. Fix the existing problems first please

        • Crucible Labs icon, too hidden. Crucible Labs mode and rewards too obscure, unoriginal. Music is too dark and defeault. Rewards should be based on mode features. Sound effects for Crucible selections should be unique large animations. rewards guaranteed. Place representative in IO and other planets with new mods and ornaments. Place representative NPC" at the farm, to make farm visits rewarding and useful. The farm PVP map underground, training zone Use techno and DnB, salsa. Machine guns only mode: Everyone fights only using machine guns as the general preset, many machine gun ornaments, machine guns based on the map. Reward ornaments change bullets sound and appearance. showcase animations for machineguns, supressors, PVE. When capturing zones flags flash and make beacon or warn, AOE and other traps, player is tagged as flag capturer and glows, is awarded extra points and rewards per capture, tokens, ornaments, and resources based on map. it would be fun to have a side arm only mode, just like a weapons master mode that is based on each planet, so to emphasize and teach/up-keep players diverse skills in weapons use, so players who arrive at Crucible Earth/EDZ training grounds has to fight with only sidearms and is faced with enemies in the opposite team with sidearms, HAKKE, etc.

          • I have played a few games now. Fun mode and I like it is not just about pure teamshooting. Should definitely be a regular competitive mode. Great that it includes radar. Keep it. Needs to remain 4v4. 6v6 would be too busy and not competitive or strategic. Stats at the end of the game need to increase to show things relevant to the type of play. Zones capped, saved etc. Heavy ammo needs to be reduced. I feel there has been a clear correlation between getting heavy the most and winning. I used the strategy myself putting emphasis on getting heavy to take or protect a zone causing a win. Next comment might help with this too... Maybe restrict heavy to one location in the centre of the map so it is close from any zone causing risk/reward to go for it. Not just next to where you spawn. Too easy to get it and then just go and rocket 3 people at B. Would be good if there was some mechanism for when a player leaves. I've played a bunch of games and most had someone drop out making it easy for my team or the opponents to 3-cap especially with the long respawn time (though I like the strategy of knowing if 2 or 3 are down you can use there to your advantage to push for the 3 cap). Really frustrating having to wait out a clear loss or even go for a win so easy. Maybe just end the match and give everyone half points or something? No idea. But the percentage this happened last night was extremely high. Nice change of pace.

            • New modes in Crucible Labs are not for single players. As a singel player, you lose. Players leave the game. No players will be replaced. Playable only in the group.

              This HAS to be like Quick Play. Otherways players will run into invincible/ unkillable/ laggy players with a connection advantage and they will triple cap all the time. I already see this happen, the same like in Trials. You shoot them and your every third bullet registers, but when they shoot back, they kill you as easy as you are playing CoD hardcore.

            • The mode is WAY to slow! Easy to understand, objective is simple, but the matches are way too long. The teams are also really small, idk if it’s gonna stay like that since the last crucible labs only had 8 players total but the teams are too small for the mode. The game mode itself in-game is a little boring. The death timer takes so long the respawn a person so at one point it was just me against 2 of them. Then later on in that match, it was just my team standing there waiting cause the whole enemy team was down. Maybe if there were more people on a team and the percentage at the top would increase faster the mode would be better. I feel like the percentage should also start going up by one with 1 zone and up by 2 when you have 2 and so on. Although i feel like this may slim down the competition for the final zone to start gaining points.

            • Lockdown is a really good mode that offers a new experience and new ways to play. Having that said, here is what I think: 》 Make this its own mode and keep it in the game. 》 I would play Trials again if this were the mode unique to it.

            • I liked it. I like how its focused on the objective rather than kills. I do think the matches need to be shortened to about 75~80%, and make it 4 to win instead of 3.

            • I haven't tried it out yet but I welcome more comp modes to the mix, it gets boring with the same two modes in the rotation. I have to ask though, why does it reward valor and not glory as a comp mode? I get it's testing but I think it would motivate more comp players to try it out if it also rewarded glory. I can personally say I would rather grind comp right now in the last month trying for the redrix.

              Hi cozmo, any possibility of having a report function for crucible for players that refuse to play the objectives or as a team? So sick of losing control/lockdown because my team refuses to capture zones and just hang back trying to build their KD's, players like that should be restricted to clash & rumble if they cant play a team game. I shouldnt have to PM everyone and tell them how to play each mode & how bad they are even though they assume they are better just because their KD ratio is 3-4-5x what mine is.

              Not one to complain, but this game mode is really bad. People don’t play the objectives and with a lot of maps you can camp on B the entire game and win. If you don’t have a fire team, you can’t coordinate pushes with your team and you’ll be stuck spawning on a zone while the enemy progress bar ticks all the way up. I thought zone control was a fun game in D1, but I don’t feel the same way about lockdown

              also alot of players want to take to the city towers traveler suburbs not just the farm for PVP and PVE crucible maps, i personally am for weather and area enhancements, new creatures and monsters, and martial arts that enhance or are unlocked through ornaments and catalyst. each area should give emotes based upon the maps and equipment, win or lose victory, or engram mystery with extra traits for equiping or obtainign them, minimal as posible.

              Animations for orbit and icons, as well as the music should be more immersive and upgraded. Icons as well as rewards, sound effects, advertising is missing from PVE, not enough NPC or crucible enthusiast or areas or rewards that pertain or makes sense. Seing that the farm should get back features and NPCs as well as new shops or manufacturers, Crucible farm and Crucible labs dont have enough representatives officials or training areas, or maps that make sense, I would like to see a map that is just woods near the farm, as well as another training area that is in the basement or beneath the lakes in each planet or lab, this is good for PVP. The rewards serve to enhance the experience of travel and being affordable or themed by each playlist or crucible encounter or planet with extra unlockables and feature ornaments beverages.
