Crucible Labs Feedback

If you have feedback on our latest experiment mode in Crucible Labs, please leave it here. The mode we are testing is Lockdown, and it will be available until the next weekly reset. Senior Designer Andrew Welden explained how it works in this weeks TWAB. [quote] Lockdown is a new 4v4 round-based Competitive mode that, like Control, is about capturing and holding zones. Unlike Control, your only score comes from playing the objective. Those of you from the Taken King/Rise of Iron era know this mode’s predecessor, the Control variant “Zone Control.” Here’s how it plays out: Both teams start Lockdown with a “Progress” percentage of 0% displayed under the scoreboard. Once a team holds two zones, progress will begin ticking up for that team at a rate of 1% per second. There is no round timer—the first team to reach 100% will win the round, and the first to win three rounds will win the match. That’s not all, though—if a team can successfully capture all three zones, they will instantly win the round, regardless of each team’s progress state. A well-coordinated push from your opponents will always be dangerous, which means you need to stay focused on your objective. However, winning a round that way is not necessarily as simple as it might seem. To earn capture progress or win on the triple cap, you must hold uncontested zones. If a team holds two zones, you can fully halt their progress by contesting one or more zones (you’ll see “PROGRESS HALTED” display under the scoreboard to let you know this is happening). They won’t start earning score again until they clear you and your progress off the point(s). The same applies when going for the triple cap lockdown—the instant win only applies if all three zones are completely clear.   • Year one D1 player, decided to power through Warming competitive to get rank rewards. Dced twice and third round teammate missing off the bat. Suspended and lost a ton of points. If a teammate is disconnected, the rest of the team should not loose points on a loss. Be nice if I don't loose points because your servers are acting up or something. Pretty pissed. Doing quicklplay no problem, but i want competitive for both points. What you going to do about this Bungie?

    • A few days late but really wanted to share my thoughts: The knockout feature was neat, and rounds was a fun change of pace. 4v4 is too small a stage to really appreciate it, though. I strongly prefer 6v to 4v, and it is most striking in objective based game types like this. The heavy ammo didn’t feel right. I found myself constantly thinking it would be more fun if the engagements involved more gunplay and less OHKs. dunno if it should be disabled altogether, but I kept thinking to myself this is too fast paced a game type to have heavy ammo sitting everywhere with such a long timer attached. (I realize this is probably moot given the upcoming PVP ammo changes, but still figured it might be useful) Map size was less relevant than team size. I’d prefer more players on the field, regardless of map size. There was a stat (damage, maybe?) that looked really neat. If it’s what I think it is - a reflection of overall damage imparted - I’d like to see more PVP through that kind of lense instead of the usual KA/D Overall I enjoyed my time playing this, but I’m not sure if I would choose it over Zone control if given the option. Keep up the great work fellas!

    • • What did you think about this mode? I thought it was fun, but too long to win a round. • Was anything confusing? Nothing at all, thought the game was well explained and shown. • Did anything seem missing? Could you possibly add some Shaxx dialogue to tell the player's team if they're close to losing or winning? • Was there a map it played better/worse on? Maybe do the mode on smaller D2 maps, as my team kept losing because we couldn't keep the other zone we had in the middle at Javelin-4. • Were there spawning issues? No placement issues, but maybe lower the respawn restriction from 10 seconds to at most 7 seconds? • Were the rounds too short/too long? They felt long, but maybe that was because my team kept losing. • Was there a weapon or other sandbox combination that affected the game in a negative way? No, either than you guys really need something to help balance out the GL. Overall, another good idea for Crucible. Other than some minor issues, this could be a success for Crucible. Nice work!

      Hello i have one question for u Bungie :) what do you think about graviton lance and vigilance wings ? And your matchmaking ? I say that because, it's cool too make other game mode but if u don't balance some weapon, nobody go in your pvp and new mode... i love you Bungie but pvp is so so so bad... i was all the game vs full team or trio, they destroy the game all the time, graviton lance is too broken in all distance, is a higt impact handcanon with infinite range, no recoil and better rate of fire... please fix it... why you don't focus too fix pvp ( weapon balance, matchmaking and other bug like headglitch... ) ? I love destiny 2 and 1 but in this 2 game you never make a good weapon balance ? Why other multiplayer game can do this and not Bungie ? Pvp make me very sad... and please buf the golden gun super duration... and make the titan bubble really INDESTRUCTIBLE because in this description your said : " titan make an INDESTRUCTIBLE bubble " ! And in pve i think you need too nerf explosive bullet... why explosive bullet make extra dammage ? Better devil make more dammage to crimils dagger or other High impact hand cannon, same for all explosive bullet weapon... and why penetrate bullet is so un effective in pve ( and pvp ) ?

      • [b]• What did you think about this mode?[/b] => As a team-oriented player who mainly play around objectives and map control, LockDown is a very pleasant mode! I hope to see an upgrade version of it soon in the Comp Playlist! [b]• Was anything confusing?[/b] => Maybe a warning signal when a team cap the last point, something like the red screen on spire of stars etc. I can be frustrating to be in a gunfight when suddenly the Lockdow occurs. [b]• Did anything seem missing? [/b] => A few tweaks here and there but I got nothing really impactful to say. [b]• Was there a map it played better/worse on? [/b] => Worse no, just need to keep a sharp eye for a good loadout and everything is fine. Braytech Center was a blast, good point for this map who tend to be very frustrating in other modes! [b]• Were there spawning issues?[/b] => Rarely. It can be a bit frustarting to start a full lock when an ennemy suddenly spawn and counter it but a "neutral ground" around the zone to keep spawning to occur too close from a point can cause a spawn problem everywhere else on the map so... good map control, coverage, communication from each team can sove the problem in game imo. [b]• Were the rounds too short/too long?[/b] => Nup. [b]• Was there a weapon or other sandbox combination that affected the game in a negative way? [/b] => Typical Grav'Lance V'Wing cross maping, like everywhere else, nothing new here. Much rewarding for a "control setup", enjoying a lot of sniper action (dear Whisper...) and new tripmine traps. Play the bait, cap to make the ennemy team move, if they play the "passive meta", they gonna loose badly.

      • 1. I think it is a fantastic Mode 2. Nothing was confusing 3. No 4. Spaws was ok 5. The Rouds was very god, not to short and not to long 6. Yes, Gaviton. But actually it wasent that bad, because you had to move, anstatt standing in Spawn with Graviton. Me and my Clan Love the new Mode, because you have to push, anti camping game mode, pleas leave it in the crucible, PLEASE!!!!!

The slower spawns make you value your life, and getting team wiped means a triple play round loss. They should increase the spawns in quick-play. It is very hard to take zones when lemming are constantly spawning and running to the point. [/b] • Were the rounds too short/too long? [b]No, most games played fast. I can see where the absolute closest games could go long, but the games would be extremely fun if that close. I don't understand why it's there. [b]• Did anything seem missing?[/b] Nope. [b]• Was there a map it played better/worse on?[/b] It felt more balanced on Altar of Flame and Pacifica. The Burnout is the one that may need work:A and C zones are too close. Because of the 10 second spawn time I was able to push from C to A and take out two opponents capturing it without any problems. My team captured C and B while I took A. It worked every time. [b]• Were there spawning issues?[/b] No. It was 4v4, so everyone was spread out and I never spawned among or near opponents. [b]• Were the rounds too short/too long?[/b] If you could capture all three zones from the start of each round it goes by very quickly. [b]• Was there a weapon or other sandbox combination that affected the game in a negative way? [/b] No different than usual; lots of Graviton, Vigilance and Crimson.

      • I just wanted to take a minute out of my day to thank whoever decided it was a good idea to create a set of powerful pve armor that requires 32 super kills in pvp. Nice. I didnt think it was possible to grow the number of people who hate this game because of forced play after masterworks came out. I was wrong. For the futures sake, please fire whoever had this idea.

          Here's an idea. Stop requiring us to play your crappy PvP for quests. The vast majority of the player base hates it. You guys ruin every event with this cancerous garbage. Permanently separate the game modes. We've been asking for it for 4 years.

Stop releasing new shit and events of the game WE DON'T NEED THEM, BALANCE YOUR -blam!-ING GAME. THE CRUCIBLE IS THE MOST BROKEN IT HAS EVER BEEN.           • Cozmo you do realize there is a SERIOUS Problem with the way Bungie Allocates it's events right? Take the Solstice armor for example the Armor LACKS the option to choose a path PvE OR PvP it should be up the player NOT Forced down our throats it constricts the player base and pisses us ALL off in general it's something that's NEEDED TO CHANGE LIKE YESTERDAY. Cozmo,Bungie is always saying things. like your reading your forums well here's something to take to heart, Learn to give the community at Least TWO options for Events like these, that adhere to both PvE and PvP players or D2's Player base Will abandon the game... QUICKLY. I added my two sense it's up to bungie's admins and community management to do something constructive at this point. And by the way a good portion of the community Are pretty pissed on this forum about the Solstice Armor Not having a split path. (Also that the armor is literally another re-skin of our starting armor) Me personally I hate crucible and Not having a secondary PvE option as a choice is abhorrently upsetting Im sure the PvP players feel that way with Not having any PvP options for the PvE parts of the armor There Needs To be a Split Path for all of the armor otherwise it's just gonna make players angry in the end.

              Forced down players to play the game as you want ( 5 renown sh!t idea , get 34 kills supers in PVP) , WILL COST YOU MORE THAN WHAT THEY SPEND IN EVEVERSE. for simple example, if you don't like to eat a banana, DO YOU WANT SOMONE TO INSERT IT DOWN DEEP YOUR THROAT, maybe yes, but others doesn't.               REMEMBER THIS, IF [ TEAM SHOOTING ] CONTINUE TO FORSAKEN , 6 ppl sticking there legs near each other having SHOTGUN SNIPER HANDCANON ( or they all decide to f!!k solos with maybe 3 shotgun all the 6 squad ) , BELIVE IT OR NOT IT WILL BE THE END OF YOUR DESTINY PVP. *Team shooting for those who didn't know or try what they missed in D1 PVP , which was one of the best PVP experience in gaming history ( expect for some whiny that there matchmaking was in bungie Forums try to manipulate destiny feedback, as they win that move by let them create the garbage D2 which was the worst change in gaming history that they still suffer to fix , but good thing that other company's learned from what will happened when a company wants more money by selling there playerbase for casuals Eveverse ) D1 if your partner stick his thigh near you in crucible and kill the enemy you r shooting , he will get +1 kill & u will get +1 Assist. Skilled gameplay. D2 if your squad sticking there ***** near each other as a skill to make solos a joke for them, even if there k/d 0.5 , they will get +1 kill, nope no assist. Disaster gameplay.

            • We need game modes that aren’t based around clash. How about this: You take the “greed” ball mechanics from spire of Stars. The map is a rectangle arena with a goal at each end. A ball spawns in the center. Each team has to grab the ball (which is perpetually engulfed) and throw it into the other team’s goal. You can pass the ball, and you can intercept the ball. If you hold the ball too long, you die and drop the ball. Sword hilts only. Heavy spawns twice a match in the center of the arena to give players an opportunity for a power play. Or maybe a new twist on capture the flag. A faction rally game mode. 3v3v3 (DO vs NM vs FWC). The map is a triangle. It’s a maze. At the 3 corners are each team’s spawn. Each faction’s flag sits on their spawn. The objective is to capture the other team’s flags and defend your own. Once all flags are captured or the timer runs out, the round is over. If a team captures a flag, they are awarded 1 point. If a team’s flag isn’t captured during a round, they get a point. After 3 rounds, the team with the most points wins. If there is a tie (whether it be 2 teams or 3), a sudden death flag will spawn in the center and whoever captures it wins. If there is a 2-way tie, the 3rd team can participate in the sudden death round, but cannot capture the flag and still cannot win, but they can mess with the other 2 teams. Or how about infected from halo 3? One random person becomes infected at the start of the match. They have only a sword with infinite ammo, and receive a speed and agility boost. They have to kill other players. If a player gets killed by the infected person, that player becomes infected. It goes until the last person is infected or the timer runs out. The point system will be the same as halo 3. There are so many cool game modes that you could make. Please think outside the box because I’m sick of clash and all the weak attempts at “other game modes”. Let’s be honest with ourselves, control, mayhem, doubles, rumble, survival, blah blah blah....it’s all clash with a very small tweak, and clash sucks. So please stop remaking clash and calling it a new game mode.

                I liked it. Some friends of mine who played more than 1 game to test it(unlike myself) enjoyed it a lot more than the current gamemodes we have in Comp. It fits the criteria for something I've been wanting for Comp. for awhile: [b]objective gamemode with respawns[/b]. I dislike Survival very intensely because any team who wants to win no matter what will just set-up shop in a far corner of the map or near the cap point the second they get Life Advantage to farm Super energy and minimize dying as much as possible, since there's no actual objective. It's a sound strat that makes sense, but it's nothing but stagnation at the end of the day. It makes for a very boring and underwhelming experience when this occurs. I don't mind Countdown so much, but in this current meta, you don't have to worry about making your life count as much because of certain Exotics, and revives are too easily spammed. I'd be fine with the revives if there was at least no more overshields on them. I understand they can be negated, but the fact that your team can be rewarded for you dying has always left a sour taste in my mouth since D1. If there's a way to disable them in PvP without affecting PvE, great. If there's not, I guess it's better to keep things the same. They won't be as much of an issue once we have Shotties, Snipers, and Fusions again in a month. On a slightly unrelated note, I'd love to see Zone Control make a comeback as a Comp. gamemode. 4v4 Zone Control in Private Matches was the most fun I had in Year 3/Rise of Iron outside of Rumble, and Lockdown shares many similarities to it. But the biggest difference is keeping control for short/medium length rounds in a row, as opposed to keeping control for an entire game with no resets.

                  How about make Soltice of heroes acknowledge that a player has reach legend rank before and reset their rank..long before the event even started..that way players can masterwork their armor..y'all have systems In place that tracks who has and who hasn't..so why is it that players have to grind PvP again to get back to legend when they've already did it once and that should be taken in account.
