PSA - Cayde's Treasure Maps
Decided to pick up Cayde's treasure maps for the first time since like week 2 of D2 and just thought I'd share my official thoughts:
They still suck - pointless loot and a complete waste of 10 minutes. Don't waste your glimmer.

They are only worth your time if you havent discovered any exotics still and want to roll the dice with rng. I also just remembered you can get every past seasons faction weapons to drop from these. So no, they definitely are not useless for everyone. Unless you have every exotic and every faction weapon they have ever released, you have a chance to find a weapon you don't have. I have everything so they dont do much for me, but for the majority playerbase you shouldn't mislead them. Most people dont have every faction weapon from every season. It was kinda grindy to get them all tbh.

They’re nothing to write home about but I got FWC’s The Number Masterwork’d before the Faction Rally it was introduced in. That being said, they definitely need some luv when Forsaken drops and they’re reintroduced as _____’s Treasure Maps.

I often get an exotic...... That I already have.... I dismantle if for...... Nothing important....... Thank god cayde is going to be perma retired soon.....

Those who ranked up quickly, used this tactic. Fill up your inventory slots with maps, have raid keys go to the post master each week.................... return to leviathan to cash in the keys and get engrams that scaled to your power level after the DLC. You can hold 20 at the postmaster, per character.

You can sometimes get Exotics from them, this [b][i]used[/i][/b] to matter back in the days when Exotics decrypted into [b]Powerful[/b] gear. I guess that no longer matters now that Bungie has nerfed Exotics ( and everyone has all the RNG Exotics ).

I like exploring the game worlds, especially Nessus (I could just hang around there for hours on end, it`s just so nice to look at and listen to), so having some extra stuff to hunt for in out-of-the-way areas is great with me. Even if I don't get much from them, it's guaranteed to be more than those normal chests. The stuff you fin in them can be funny, too. I'm keeping that Spinfoil Hat I found in the EDZ for the rest of my D2 time, both because of the joke and the fact that I've never found another one anywhere, and it hasn't been for a lack of trying. I`m also keeping that erotic novel in the vain hope that it`ll come in handy someday. I do want to know what Cayde was doing with my celery. I can understand Shaxx nicking my Raze Lighter, but Cayde stealing my celery?! No excuse there.

1 ReplyIn hindsight, it seems like Bungie didn’t care because they’re going away anyway. Unless Ikora starts handing out Cayde’s maps for no reason. It would be classic Bungie to troll everyone and make the “Spicy Ramen” quest coming in Solstice include finding things in Cayde’s Stashes. It will, of course, be bugged and the items we need to collect will fall through the map.

They should make Cayde chests drop weapons with card themes. So more guns like ace of spades.

Kinda the same. Hadn't done them for 5 to 6 months but picked them up last week looking for the 3 emblems I was missing. Didn't get squat. This week though 3 out of 5 gave me emblems and they were the ones I needed as well. Good times.

Glimmer overflow and 2. he gonna die and I wanna see what happens with them. 😳 Maybe nothing, maybe something. Either way, I’m prepped. 🤘🤨
