I haven't played Destiny 2 in a month. If the Black Spindle event came up for the first time now I'd be on playing the hell out of it to get that weapon.
I went on for half an hour yesterday to do the public event with my team and we all decided we couldn't be bothered anymore and stopped.
This weapon and the mission look like some of the best sh1t since I don't know when... It looks incredible and Bungie really outdid themselves with it.
I complained about the wait time on King Gothalions stream two days ago and he responded by saying "Have you ever played an MMO before?? THIS IS WHAT WE WANTED!"
SORRY but I'm sure it's fun standing still on Io when you have a chat of 1000+ people to talk to. It's horrible game design. Destiny is not an MMO and even if it were I expect better standards from Bungie.
Why are we spending more time waiting for the event than playing it? The event takes 20 minutes to fail.... Why are we spending more than 20 minutes waiting for it? Is it supposed to be a test of patience? I don't play Destiny or video games to not play them. I am not into Destiny at the moment but there is a very big difference between Black Spindle and Whisper of the Worm. I would go back on and play for Spindle but I will not waste my time with WotW.
Edit: Just wanna say in case this post gets more attention which I doubt it will.. I mean no disrespect to Goth. I love him and his streams. I just disagree with something he said.

Lol you clearly don't get how MMOs work, it's a challenge to get and requires patience which separates the people who do have it and those who don't. You can enjoy not having the strongest SR in the game though, be my guest pleb.

1 ReplyJust to be clear, you find it fun and entertaining to sit in some random guys stream and watch him wait for a public event, BUT it's not acceptable for you to have to do it while holding a controller?

Edited by juicehead2004: 7/24/2018 4:47:23 PMFYI the original Black Spindle quest in D1 was linked to a daily heroic mission and if u missed it that day ( had to work, out of town etc etc ) u had to wait until that daily mission popped up again , which was around 6 weeks . So ya I’d rather have a chance to grind this quest for 3 days then wait 4 days for the chance to grind it some more. And the quest is pretty easy once u get the jumping puzzle down. Me and two of my clan mates finished it with 5 minutes to spare. Now granted we ran it around 3-4 times and failed til we were all fast getting thru the jumping puzzle , but once we mastered that it was pretty easy tbh.., I think Bungie did a good job with this quest other than the fact that the PE does not spawn enough, 2-4 hours waiting at times for this is just crazy ridiculous ..

This is exactly why Bungie need to stop beating around the bush and just say upfront what they want their game to be, because in 2013, Bungie sold this game as a shared-world action-RPG with MMO elements, but now people bitch endlessly about those three genres making an appearance in the game. Sorry, but when Bungie advertised their action-RPG with MMO elements and mentioned Public Events in 2013, this was exactly what I had in mind; limited-time events and RNG-based mechanics. People may not see the enjoyment in it, but that's just how opinions go.

2 RepliesLol your team could wait more than 30min and gave up, sounds like a shitty team to me
