I've been hearing a lot about the new Whisper of the Worm quest and have yet to try it, but is it impossible?
Even the successful videos make it look like it's extremely difficult.
So my question is: For someone who is a more casual player (such as myself), is it still doable? Would I go it solo or get a fireteam? And should I wait to get to higher levels or do it now while the fireteam forum isn't too elitist over this?
Thanks for your help guys! Love this new quest concept and am looking forward to more stuff like this from Bungie

It is absolutely impossible.

1 ReplyEdited by Slevi: 7/24/2018 3:16:20 PMIts doable with a coordinated fireteam. Once you know the ad spawns, its a cake walk. Majority of the fight is basically a roaming super fight. Room 1: pop supers on all ads Room 2: pop supers make your way to the back room for a sniper vantage point. Boss room: Kill as many blights in the middle area as you can, then pop an arc super on the ads. From there just chip away at the boss with scouts/snipers until its dead. The mistake most players make is not using their supers. Dont bother using your supers on bosses. Theyre better used on ads. Leave the blights up in the beginning 2 rooms as they serve more as cover for you.

Get to 385 is my advice. It is still pretty hard at that level.
-
It’s easy, everyone is over exaggerating. Trust me. I did it with my 354 cousin, and he’s no good. Just know the strat

1 ReplyAs close to 385 as you can get absolutely helps. Coordination is good but if everyone has an idea what to do it's better than nothing. I tried 3+ times with open mics but one guy was underleveled and couldn't do a lot of damage. Then I tried with a completely different group with no communication and got it.

Imagine it will be hard same as spindle, not impossible tan 3 strikes last night and was only one each strike without it! I just need to try a get a chance to play at weekend as that when I am not normally on!

Aslong as you got the jumping puzzle bit down you can do it, atleast have 12 mins left and team shoot everything and deal with the bigger threats first
-
Just got to get the jumping bit down to have as much time left for the fights, wouldn't try it solo though 😳

Nah it’s ok when you get a couple of runs in. As long as you are a decent power level you will find it ok.

2 RepliesEdited by SneakyPanduh: 7/24/2018 5:29:52 AMOnce you had a good team of three with a strat it wasn’t hard, but still challenging and very fun. The worst part about it was when you’d have to wait 30 minutes to an hour and a half for the public event to spawn. Got mine and helped a couple clan mates get it, but after that I was just burnt out on it. The waiting made it horrible. BUT the weapon was definitely worth getting.

6 RepliesI did it with a 360 and a guy who had no idea how to get out of the Lost Sector part. Me and the 360 just sat in the back the entire time and sniped the bosses with Polaris Lance and won with time to spare. It’s very easy to do, just shoot for 15:00 minutes on the clock once you reach the first killing section, kill yellows first, bring Polaris and something Void for Heavy.

It is very possible I’ve done alot of double carries with randoms to help the them get theirs.
-
I joined a single LFG post without watching a full video, got it

It's actually pretty easy if you have a good group, but then isn't everything.

Basilisk shotgun worked well for me with solar. Make sure you have something arc in the final room to take out all the damn centurions.
-
2 RepliesObviously not since people already have the gun.
-
I'm seeing the gun everywhere. I see it in the tower, I see it in public events, most randoms I find on lfg have the gun even without specifying for it. I got the Whisper on my first run, then the catalyst on my first run of Heroic as well. All it takes is a little effort and priority add killing, as in knowing what enemies need to go first.

4 RepliesOnce it is available again next weekend, yes it is doable. Just be sure to have the right loadout, and two strong team mates. Clear rooms quick as you can, and focus down the bosses in the boss room. Good luck Guardian.
-
3 RepliesGo with a team and be 375+, at least that is what i would recommend anyways.
-
9 RepliesDoing it at 360 will make it feel like you’re doing the heroic strike at 385. So it’s doable, not super easy tho. If you get to 385 it’s pretty easy once you go through the jumping stuff once and learn the shortcut(s)

6 RepliesYou should work on getting to 380 and then try to find a group for the quest.
