is the shortcut in the whisper of the worm quest intentional

is the shortcut supposed to be there or is it something that bungie is supposed to 'fix'? i hope it is intentional because without i would probably never be able to get the gun

Its intentional. The long path seems to be meant for the 4th chest needed for the Catalyst
