As of right now, prestige raids are really only a cosmetic activity. Get higher light for activities that dont reach that high, get the same rewards as normal raid, and get a glowly piece of armor at the end despite most of the raid gear being hideous. Those aren't rewards to entice people to complete those activities. I remember in Destiny 1 certain weapons like fate bringer only dropped from hard mode vault of glass. People would grind normal raid to increase their light so they could tackle those harder activities. But the reward of it didn't stop there. Iron banner had light level advantage so people who religiously completed those activities had an edge in iron banner, and later on in trials. Doing the raid, even if you didn't get the weapons you wanted, still rewarded you in such a way that it still mattered. The reward always felt like it was relevant even if it was duplicated and it could be used to give you an edge in activities that had those advantages enabled. (which bungie will be bringing back) Once you got high enough, you could then tackle hard mode raids which gave you exclusive weapons, like vex mythoclast and necrochasm. These much sought after weapons kept players coming back on the regular to try their luck at a weapon people who don't participate could not get. It drove many hard core and casual players alike to try these activities for their rewards. Near the end of year 3, bungie added ornaments and elemental primaries back as a reward for completing these activities. People who have completed these activities a thousand times before went back in because there was a reason to increase your light and because it had interesting exclusive rewards. Although Destiny 2 got the ornament sort of rewards right for hard mode, it painfully lacks the weapons to drive players back into those activities because the normal raid drops every single weapon available. I'm not saying they should be taking rewards out of the leviathan loot pool like inaugural address and putting it into prestige mode, but add a new set of weapons to drive dedicated players to play the activity again but at the higher levels. Do you think it's a good idea to bring back rewards exclusive to prestige raids, or do you think bungie should keep it like it is?

 • Yes, the prestige raids should have exclusive gear. The gear should follow the theme of the raid. The exclusive rewards should not relate to items obtained outwith the raid, ie don't go placing a catalyst for a non raid quest item behind the raid.
I haven't played a prestige raid in D2, chances are that I'm not going to either. That doesn't mean that people that do play them don't deserve to get something exclusive from doing so.
• I’m all for exclusive rewards. I’m just gonna be annoyed with all the entitled 345 guardians who think they deserve them as well even without completing the raids.
