Yep. Everything that made D1 so much fun was removed from D2. Bungie will go down for many as the company that made the worst sequel in gaming history.

They had a new team start on D2 while D1 was still going. They used an upgraded version of the game engine, which is why EVERYTHING is different. It's also why we lost all our gear. They weren't able to just dump from D1 into D2. It's why (at least partially) why they have been spoon feeding us our old gear reskinned or not. D2 is more of a Destiny "themed" game than a true sequel.

That's classic Bungie. They'll just keep reusing old assets till the end of time. It's kinda why I'm just in watch mode.
