Freeze/Stuck When loading other planets/areas/maps (randomly)

Hello, so to start off i want to say that this only happens in destiny 2, and before anyone ask, all my gpu and drivers are fine, like i said all other demanding games can run without any issue whatsoever. My system should be more than enough: I7 7700K MSI Z270 KRAIT GAMING 2X8GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 16gb ddr4 GTX 980 SSC EVGA 4GB GDDR5 PSU Seasonic 1000W 80+ GOLD Cooler master Hyper EVO 212 (cpu cooler) 1 HDD WD BLACK 3TB 1 HDD WD BLUE 1 TB (FOR STORAGE) This is also a clean windows 10 64 bits installation, so with this said, ive read threads but not all seem to be related to my case. For example , game runs amazing normally there is no issue, fps drop or stuttering or anything at all, it only happens when sometimes i travel to a different planet and it get stuck on the loading animation or the countdown goes to 0 then it stays there and i can still hear the sound, sometimes screen stays blackish but the only way to play again is to close session and re launch the game (since task manager wont show up when the screen is stuck in destiny 2). Also discord and the rest of software still runs fine when this happen, temps are fine since my vcard is about 40-50° when running the game and cpu is usually 40-45°. Im using a 144hz Samsung curve monitor VA panel, and in the settings the vsync is on at 144hz, not sure if that might cause issue and im running at fullscreen. Hope somebody can help

Hi Traeherne, Thanks for that, I have seen a couple of posts here from people who experience issues when transitioning from say an area in the game to the next area, from a orbit screen to a planet surface and so on. I'm also aware that Bungie have reported that they are investigating issues relating to PC performance too, as a result it wouldn't surprise me if there is a bug that may result in a future patch. What we can do is try to help alleviate the circumstances that can aggravate bugs that cause issues for players. To that end I have a few suggestions, I can't tell you they'll fix your problem, only that they may help. 1. Exclude Destiny 2 from your Anti-Virus product if you are using one (AV can trip up games when it comes to disk access tasks). 2. Perform a Scan/Repair of the game from the Battle.net client. Be warned though, this will likely require a significant download. 3. Consider de-fragmenting the HDD that Destiny 2 is installed on. This can be time consuming but the more heavily fragmented your file system is, the longer the system will take to load data, if there is a time dependency in the game code with respect to area transition it may trip up the game. 4. Click on Start then Settings, in the window that appears type in "Choose a Power Plan." then click on the suggested entry. In the Power Options Window, ensure that your computer is set to "High Performance" or, if it is available "Ultimate Performance." Under other performance plans Windows can power down disks that are not being actively used, this will ensure that they stay on and also free the CPU from some Windows performance profile constraints. 5. Your in game performance is not an issue, however you can also adjust the performance profile of your GPU if you wished, by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting the nvidia control panel option. Within the control panel select from the left side "Manage 3D Settings" now, on the right side click the tab labelled "Global Settings" and scroll down the list until you find "Power Management Mode" and set it to "Prefer Maximum Performance." 6. It may also be worthwhile checking to see if the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver is installed and up to date. While you may not need the advanced features of Intel RST the driver itself can assist the OS with SATA controller management. All these suggestions are exactly that, suggestions, you may do all off them and get nothing out of it, or you might find them handy for resolving some issues with system stability and performance. You may have already tried a few of them too, if you have let us know so that the next person along can see if something worked or helped. I wish you good luck, and with a bit more luck than that Bungie will get to the bottom of the problems! :)
