Huckleberry catalyst is a myth!!!!
40+ Heroic adventures and I'm done! Screw it, I just can't do these stupid, boring missions anymore. Who ever thought of these stupid missions should get poo packed with a cactus.

But you can also give it a boost to stability, like how Graviton's Masterwork adds both +20 range and Hidden Hand. Or even Threat Detector, because that'd easily turn it into a laser when using it in its intended ranges, getting up-close and personal to mobs of adds or Crucible opponents. Kind of like the Ikelos SMG, which may as well be it's Legendary Energy counterpart stat-wise. Of course, this is only from the perspective of a console player. Apparently it's one of the, if not the, best PvE primary on PC.

Man that was my first catalyst, it dropped while I was still doing adventures for warmind. But man I've tried Huckleberry out a bit and I just find it very situational. Mows mobs of lowest tier enemies but that's all I can see its good for. Ymmv.

1 ReplyA few weeks ago, I joined in with a friend doing heroic adventures on Mercury. He was already near the end. He opened the chest.... I got the Huckleberry catalyst. He got shit on. I've rarely felt guilty while gaming but this? 😢

That's why I never force myself to grind endlessly for something in this game. I just keep playing it and things just drop when they want. If sooner, great, if never... f*ck it, who cares. It's just a game

I got one. It kinda contradicts itself when it says nothing in the world 30 rounds can’t solve, because you can have up to 45 in the mag.

I played a Heroic adventures with my friend and he got his on the second adventure. Then the [b]DAY AFTER[/b] I helped another friend with the adventures and he got his on the first one. [spoiler]Sooooooooooooooooooo[/spoiler]

I think Bungie Ninja nerfed the drop rate, because it was dropping like crazy for a lot of people at the beginning of the Warmind DLC. It took me only 2 Heroic adventures and it dropped 1st couple days of DLC. Now it seems tougher to get.

Got mine after 50 adventures. You should try to team-up with a friend. Your teammate starts the adventure as the leader. When you're at the boss or at the end he gives you the lead and leaves. Do it till you drop the catalyst.

Also, a lot of adventures have optional objectives to complete (time limits, prevent the boss from reaching a certain point, kill boss before reinforcements, etc). It is pure speculation on my part, but I do believe you need to complete those goals for the catalyst to be added to the loot table. I might be wrong, but hey, after 40 runs, it can’t hurt can it?!?

9 RepliesJust keep doing 3 a day on Mars, forget the Mercury ones as they take to long. You can't do the adventures expecting it to drop. Do it as a daily activity and you'll get it when least expected. Ambitious assassin is alright on Huckleboy but it doesn't always proc the way you might expect. Would be cool if it worked even when auto-reloading. Maybe play an audio book of "the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" for good measure?

1 ReplyI got the Huckleberry CAT at around 10 or 12 Heroic Adventures completed. Super disappointed with the weapon in pretty much every way possible. The “Stability” stat line should be at 0- because that thing is wild as hell.
