Why is it called guardian con?

When 90% of the streamers raising money have never even played Destiny? I totally get the decision to bring in higher profile streamers from other games, and it being focused away from destiny given how bad d2s profile was when this was organised, HOWEVER why keep the destiny name? It's something bungo would do, even though it wasn't bungo who did it

It’s called Guardian Con because it honors our past and respects the future of the event. If you want a con devoted to Destiny you’re welcome as any to start your own, I’ll be there with bells on 👍🏻. ( professorbroman Twitter) It had nothing to do with destiny any more ..they will be having a fortnite tournament there .yeah bungie will be there but only to show the new mode ..
