There's nothing to do on Mercury, ever. It is SO BORING how hard it is to make a space fun to play? It's already tiny as hell why slack off even further by not putting anything on the map?
*Add 3 more public events into the map at least.
*Double the amount of enemies.
*Give us more to do in that terrible waste of map!
Worst DLC ever.
Edit:
Let us also use our sparrows!

1 ReplyI guarantee you the IF will be repurposed as a part of one of the Annual Pass drops, similar to the Taken infestation of the PoE during the content gap of D1Y2.
-
Mercury is so much wasted potential. They were counting on people beating their heads against heroic adventures and collecting for the forge weapons that they just made one public event-and to be fair, the shitty rewards aside, it is a pretty cool public event-and figured that was enough. There's parts of Mercury they made for the first mission we did when we arrived, why didn't they utilize that?
-
3 RepliesThey need to open up the infinite forest and have a weekly rotation of legacy strikes and a legacy raid from d1. Essentially using it as a simulation training ground. Just my opinion but won’t ever happen.

1 ReplyEdited by No Kings: 7/12/2018 2:04:51 PMI agree with you about how terrible and boring Mercury is. No argument there. But there's really no way to fix it. It's a bad map that was poorly conceived and badly executed but it's done. Every time there's a flashpoint on it, I'm reminded of how badly it sucks. What I've noticed is that players don't even bother with the heroic public events anymore. They just trigger the boss fight, get a couple of them done and move on to all the better maps available to finish off the other milestones. Get the f outa there as quickly as possible. Mercury is truly with worst, most boring map ever from any version of Destiny. By far.
-
1 ReplyI don't like Mercury either but it has its moments. Yesterday me and a couple of blueberries were patrolling on interceptors and it was pretty cool. Didn't see a yellow bar for like ten minutes, though. :D
-
And to get the region chests, you need to wait for a public event. And that never happens. If the public event could be triggered manually, maybe with a countdown, as in EP, then it would be more interesting.
-
Absolutely hate when it's a milestone planet! Go set a big rock waiting for publics. Sucks
-
2 RepliesSimulant Past Mercury should have been the way Mercury always looked.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Lord_Shar: 7/12/2018 4:40:20 PMAgreed -- at the moment, Mercury is literally the armpit of the D2 universe. It's missing just about everything: -No Sparrows? Check -Public Events? Just 1 -Unique Drops? None -Unique Opponents? None -Lots of sand? Not sure -Infinite Forest? Just another rat maze -Number of way points? Just one Seriously, why is this place even a DLC? Every Ghost shell with "Mercury" as a trait, even Sagira's Shell, is basically a crippled Ghost because Mercury is so dead.

escalation protocol for 6 man and really really good looking armour and ARMOUR PERKS inside the forrest like mercury in the past. would be so sick..

Worst DLC ever.
Alot of good shit happens when developers want to add new enemies and monsters to old game areas, especially the mars and mercury maps, EDZ, IO, etc. They all have terrible amount of rewards and unique enemies, and feel extremely repetitiev because the lack of original or immersive content AKA convincing atmospheres, weathers, and types of enemies/rewards/lore/equipment/loot The first thing that comes to mind is lost sectors, In every planet i visit, before i was aware of the factions i always though that the rewards were mediocre, and that the types of enemies just seemed Wrong, they are just monsters like fallen who are just sleeping and having conversations, and players just run in a start shooting, so its cool but after a while you start thinking you are the bad guy, and you dont know where to belong, because all you wanted was new boots & killer weapons, and when you open the chest theres nothing but a shitty blue scout riffle, at least with the faction rallies there would be extra tokens, and a trick or requirement to do them, before i just ran in for funtraining, but the reality is that the targets and exitement ends when you face the same types of monsters and enemies, that seem incorrect, and keep getting loot that is toooooooooooooooooooofamiliar. I think alien swords, and cool guns could be good, or maybe that the enemies that should be in the lost sectors should be new looking monsters and dragons or larger enemies that make more sense, not just doing in to disturb a sleeping hive to get a -blam!-in leg armor, there could be other materials, and rare orbs, and items, resources, mummies, i dont think our tombraiders have enough reasons to go in and get out happy. So the whole lost sector and faction system both need to get a large update & be observed for future patches with new features, buttons or traps, maybe foreign devices or puzzles complete for extra loot. so it would be logical for mercury to include more enemies all together, but to keep inmind adding more unique representative, the games decorations in each area are beautiful, but could be better matched up with more native elements & unique monsters or loot that doesnt come directly from other NPC or treasure chests, like making those Public Events include more types of new items, and weapons that are based on what types of enemies appear, for example a event with cabal, could feature broken parts to collect, Rachet & Clank gives off a hint, and maybe the treasure chests could prove to come with engrams and rare treasures like shaderpacks, supplies with random consumables, random resources, THEY DONT HAVE TO BE ITEMS FROM THE SAME PLANET!!!!!! and they we certaintly want to try our hands on some guns and weapons that cabal, fallen, and older enemies use or leave behind, they do leave their weapons behind after they die!!! Lets make it a little more crazy and collect parts and makereal useful attempts at making each planet beatter, Treasuer chestdont make much sense either, unless the player is faced with a raid or a treasure room, make sense, and also, maybe the enemies can start dropping some smaller weapons and magical devices, resources that could prove useful when held in the players inventories, or equiped, or picked up with temporarily effects, such as shields, lances, and granades, explosives, gunswords, riffles, carrying them could cause other enemies to quickly notice you, but in return the players are able to collect more parts from the enemies, not just glimmer, but random tokens, fragments, and weapon/armor parts from those monsters or demons, or unique planet resources. unclean banter. *Include new typs of monsters & native enemies * New enemies could be burying traps, and monsters in some areas that are like intelligent fallen with evolved scorpions, orbs & vehicles that are terrible and hazardous for guardians, and the players who are exploring new areas, maybe there could be some enemies that can come off the walls, or camuflage in some dangerous areas, maybe dodge bullets, and require melee attacks to deactivate them, or some small mechanic button presses, timing, or pedestal or trick, i dont think we know enough about mercury ***I find the hallways to be boring and uninteresting during the long walks and teleportations. additionally include more variations and monsters and inhabitants that aren't cabal, maybe they could lay What i think of mercury, it can be improved by adjusting the types of enemies and rewards like CorosMidnight said above; the map is terribly cramped and small, and it lacks variety, lost sectors aremissing, and they dont have unique monsters or any good treasure, it seems like the perfect training map for players, the raids or heroics quest and strikes could use some polishing and changes, they are effective but they dont really come with different music or unique weapons, unless the player is tying to farm up a catalys, and that is just dumb, you shoulnt have to go through thsi shit, lets make up some more rewarding ways for leveling up exotics and leave that for something else, include a leveling system and application bonus and meters to makle those weapons matter, the alien weapons found on mercury are fun, some arent, like the handcannons that are slow and unimpresive, and require a short synthesis process, while cool, this system is really underdeveloped, so it looks cheap and could have been used to strenghten weapons and create other items or equipment sets to survive and train in mercury, much of the map is blocked off and inconviniently long but it doesnt have the fun things that could make it more fun. Players arrive at mercury very well, its a hot place, the graphics are impresive, and it has a decent introduction.
-
5 RepliesMercury needs sparrows ASAP. I wouldn’t mind it if they opened up the spaces from the adventures as well, we could patrol that place. Come on but seriously bring -blam!-ing sparrows on mercury. Ps why does mercury get the wack ass cabal vehicles. And mars gets the long boost ones. Wtf!
-
6 RepliesFix Destiny. It’s a terrible game!
-
Well it is a terrible game, what did you expect?
-
Destiny 2: we got Mercury, a fun map with a portal to go to any possible future or the past. Warframe: (Shows Venus Open World) Destiny 2: shit...
-
2 RepliesEvery time the milestone is on mercury i read posts like that. Every time I wonder: isn’t what you’re doing, i.e. farming public events, a very boring way to entertain yourself to begin with? Let’s skip that existential question, are you frustrated because this milestone takes you more time than on other planets? This would be shocking! I mean, I thought players loved to play the core activity of Destiny 2, oh no I forgot, just a bunch of light addict small penis hypocrites. I also lmfao at all those who say: but the planet Mercury is smaller. Hello retards, these aren’t the real planets. Or may be, to better communicate with them, the earth is bigger than what it is in this game, wtf!?
-
I would like to see the return of "hunt the targets down" events like in D1. But pls fix the enemies teleporting to checkpoints when they under pressure.
-
Mercury is BAF. Can’t even use your sparrow. The Infinite Forest was a missed opportunity. Bungo should of done more with this. Created some Lost Sectors more areas for different Public Events within the Infinite Forest. At the very least it would give Mercury more depth.
-
2 RepliesOpening up the infinite forest and allowing future and paste simulations would be a fantastic way to expand the map. They could add an Escalation Protocol horde mode event. Osiris can be the guy who draws them in. Another public event could be an attack on the lighthouse, similar to the first mission. Hold them back until reinforcements arrive. Or until Osiris arrives, it'd be way cooler. Seriously though, I hope they NEVER make a patrol area as worthless as Mercury again. Mars is probably one of the best ones tbh, so I hope Tangled Shore and the Dreaming City are as great as they sound.

2 RepliesEdited by Lord Yoink N Bag: 7/11/2018 10:10:20 PMSparrows please. I mean come on man....
Sparrows are okay on Titan with no room to drive, but not on a map with actual roads WTF?
-
2 RepliesAnd just like all boring places it needs a bar or strip club to keep people sane.
-
6 RepliesInfinite Forest should be the Replay Hub for the game. Should be able to go into it and launch into any Strike or Story Mission.... Hell, since the Vex can simulate any period in time, they could always start adding in D1 strikes to up the variety of things to do. Why not add in a 'training simulation' that's just a horde mode going against waves of enemies for powerful rewards, and unique ornaments for the Vanguard Armour that are representations of Raid Armour from D1, or something. Infinite Forest. Infinite Possibilities.

Edited by bulletw1st: 7/12/2018 5:15:02 AMMOS EISLEY CANTINA. Brother Vance can mind the bar. If anyone gets outta hand us Guardians will bust a cap in tho ass HAN SOLO STYLE... only need to add a dinosaur outside like they did in the movie. Done.

This would require them to redesign the map and the Infinite Forest which I doubt they will do. I'd love for this to happen as well but, sorry, I really doubt they'll do such a thing. But more public events and more things tied to The Infinite Forest sound more do-able.
-
I agree that Mercury needs more... I get that it is the smallest planet, but it could have some more to do... When Mercury is the Flashpoint, there is a good amount more to do, so why not build off that on a more regular basis, also I agree, more public events would be nice to have. But I feel the biggest disappointment on Mercury has been how under-utilized the lost forest turned out to be... It could have been a whole world of things to do rather than just exhausting runs through long boring corridors, and then island after island of enemies just to get to an adventure. Prior to release I was excited at the possibility of exploring the three towers representing different time dimensions, only to find it basically amounted to nothing worth the time to run more than once or twice. So to your point, yes, while I played the DLC through on all three characters, it was extremely underwhelming, the story kind of felt a little shallow, and it was super short. It just kind of felt un-finished.

One that took the entirety of D1's life cycle to finally fix crotas end. They have no interest in actually making existing content better. They are just going to keep layering on top of it until there's no need to make more. Then maybe they will, like before as I mentioned.
