I should preface this by stating this is primarily aimed at people like myself that don't necessarily always have the time to put together EP teams and are just hoping to chance into a successful EP run. (I'm assuming there are plenty of us based on the amount of people who keep starting up the event after unsuccessful runs)
Please, if you see someone running tractor cannon, for the love of Cayde, switch to something void...weapon, subclass for grenades, I don't care...just something. EP is definitely doable by a few randos at a halfway decent power level if you're smart about DPS. You can usually tell if someone is running TC cause there will be some Jack@$$ bouncing around in far too close proximity to the boss, hucking void grenades every time they get blasted back.
I know, I know "take the time to put together a team"...and I hope to sometime soon...but a lot of the time I sit down with an unknown amount of time I'll have to play and I don't want to waste anyone's time by starting a dedicated team and having to bail in the middle of an encounter.
TL;DR: if you see TC in EP, run void for DPS.
Thanks guardians!
Edit: Trending! All good stuff and good tips guys. It's kinda awesome when these forums are used for community help and not just b!tching

Orphius rig will fill your sword super as well... what I've been trying to do, once the sword is available, is to hold off picking it up immediately, tether the mob in the middle... wait for super to come back and then pick up sword. Nb: please let the enemy run into my tether; we can keep waves of mobs tethered if we hang back for a moment!! I'm not keen on sunbreaker titans... I rarely use it, so not very strong with the subclass! Any advice/tips for running a titan?

1 ReplyMake sure to highlight the EP icon on the Mars map before you fast travel to Glacial Drift, chances are you will find a team that way.
-
2 RepliesVoid linear fusions rifles....you can thank me later.
-
1 ReplyBetter yet, every time you go to Mars, equip yourself for EP just in case.

3 Replieslmao at this thread all the darn Rando's that don't reply to messages and try to kill the level 7 boss before 0 seconds..smh.. the reason void warlocks are a threat is cause they can boop the level 7 boss and nova him and might mess up the 0 second farm.
-
6 RepliesAnother tip: Stop asking high level, void Warlocks to leave so that you can invite your buddies to the map. Happened to me yesterday. Received a "friend" request asking me to leave. I had zero EP clears because no one is ever on Mars and we had 9 on the map. I ignored the request and they started up EP anyway. Guess what happened?
I got my first two clears ever, without dying either time.
Moral: Stop discounting randoms, especially if they are max level and set up for DPS. Ask them to join you instead of trying to get your buddies in. Not everyone has a clear. I tried again tonight but as per usual, no one is on Mars.

5 RepliesHere's another tip that will help people get a lot farther. Everybody knows those swords you can pick up, and are admittedly fun to use. They are a hinderance after the first round. Everyone should be spamming supers through all 7 rounds. If you are using a sword not only are you not creating orbs for other people, you are wasting the orbs others are creating on the sword super. Side note, if you try to kill the bullet sponge wizard in the second round with swords, you will fail.

I feel like there might be a small percentage of players who actually use the forums so alot of people might not see this

21 RepliesAnd if you do end up joining a party for the love of god stop -blam!-ing saying the word boop or booped. -blam!-!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously though, just stop
Take care of yourself and each other.

2 RepliesDidn’t know booping was a thing. Now I do.

U know cannons stack right?

Thanks for the tips!

6 RepliesAnother thing. If you have lots of heavy ammo bricks lying around, please fire off your heavy and pick up a few. There can only be "x" number of bricks on the ground in the instance (not sure what "x" is as a value, but it isn't infinity). So if the ground is covered with heavy ammo, then someone else won't get anymore.

Erm you are forgetting solar Titans running in with melting point boop then grenade much more effective than a void grenade

5 RepliesEdited by Judas: 7/10/2018 7:13:02 AMWhile we’re doing EP tips, here’s a couple more... Take out the friggin’ Regeneration Wizard before going for the 2 Boss Knights. The 2 Boss Knights take almost no damage whatsoever if the damn Regeneration Wizard is near them. It’s just a waste of time, ammunition and supers if you go for the knights before you take out the wizard. I’ve seen too many groups fail on this wave just because they ignore the wizard and their time runs out. The Rat King is a beast if you have a team that at least 3 players are using it. Warlock damage rift, Titan reload shield, and Hunter tethered... 3 Rat Kings banging away and watch that yellow bar melt away like butter in the hot sun. Give it a try when you’re in a team of 3. Last but not least... heed the advice others have given here. There are too many wasted supers on the bosses. Adds bring loads of light, and the less adds you have to deal with, the easier it will be to concentrate on the bosses.

6 RepliesEveryone i do EP's with is struggling to get the weapons, but i got the Khvostov on my first run! :)

Signed on to run EP last night, had about 2 hours. Ended up playing for 2.5 hours total... Did EP for maybe 5 runs...the rest was putting together a team lol. Cheese and rice, put some kind of 8-9 player match making... The people I play with really enjoy the activity, when in a party chat it feels a lot like raiding (minus the stress) meets shooting into the loot cave.

1 ReplyAnother pro tip: If you're trying to put together a 9-person EP group, don't make a post on LFG until you have 2 other willing hosts in the region. It could be anywhere from 5 min to an hour before you get those 2 other hosts and recruiting via LFG beforehand just wastes everyone's time.

1 ReplyI and my friends have spent far too many countless hrs trying to get together or trying to find a random group high enough to do them. I guarantee we have spent far more time trying to get groups than we have trying to do them and failing or trying and succeeding. Something needs to be done with them even if it is putting higher level players in the same servers instead of 385 being put in with 302.
-
I ran tractor voidlock with a group of randoms. They kind of figured it out. Made it to level 7 but didn't finish. Not bad though.

Good stuff

Good luck. But an easy fix to this situation because we all know bungie will never implement 9 person fireteam. Easy fix allow us to be put in the same instant as a friend without being part of the fireteam itself. Making teams would go easier and alot smoother. But simple minds say make fireteam 9 person. When a more and easier solution is to just be put in the same instant as a friend. Literally game mechanic is installed and when you pull up your friends menu it will say transfer to instant or sever or whatever have you and boom your there ready to make an escaltion team of 9. Which still by the way as much as a team of 6 randoms can do it i played all the way up to level 6 then got the shaft because of a public event people left down to 4 and couldn't continue. So it's safe to say we dedicated teams of people and make it 9 people to have an easier time to get through it.

2 RepliesA tip for the noobies, use an item manager so you can quickly change your loadout for the times you might be patrolling and run into a pickup group and decide to run some EP, or anything for that matter. I can't count the times I hear "i don't have that on me" . destiny item manager is available right on the web without an app and has ios and android beta that is also accessible in chrome on your phone, but there are many .

I always go In with void anyway, but if you were a solo player who didn’t use forums and stuff, I can see it would take them a while to catch on.
