Spire of Stars is easily D2's best raid so far
I completed it for the first time about a week a go, and i still cant get over how epic that final boss fight is.
I loved everything about this raid, from the troublesome throwing mechanics we had to figure out (at first thought it was going to be the wotm throwing mechanic where you have to arc your throw. Took me a while to adjust), the scale of the gigantic jumping puzzle and secret chest with the orb. Getting lifted up through the spire. And meeting Ca'oour or whatever his name is. And absolutely the best part, the music and that final boss fight.
For being a raid lair, this in my opinion beats any raid other in Destiny History other than Kings afall and Wrath of the Machine.
The rewards might be lacking by ALOT. However the experience for the first time and the mechanics used in that final fight was absolutely incredible.
Not only that, it gives us freedom to set up how we want to damage that Ca'oour dude.

1 ReplyAksis fight is more fun, and its an actual raid. Crota fight is more fun also if your the sword bearer. The final boss fight is typical. Do mechanics, drop shield do dps.

5 RepliesAll the raids and "lairs" in D2 are a joke compared to D1 raids. Now those were raids. Well thought out, boss fights that were fun and not tediously filled with broken mechanics. My favorite raid in D1 was King's fall, though yes I know some of it had broken mechanics.. but at least when that raid bugged out, it could be funny... Like Oryx slamming his fist a little too late and sending team mates flying across the map... Or the dick room, watching people get whacked and sent flying was always a good laugh.. Just enough of everything to make it feel like a raid. VoG would be second on my list of top raids. These new "raids" are a bit like the strikes... too much running, and not enough engagement.

King's Fall and VoG, those are Raids. (Wrath is pretty damn good also) these D2 "raids" are boring af.

2 RepliesSeriously?? You call a 4x6 room full of adds and overused holding plates mechanic "epic"? Is not much different from any final boss encounter in a heroic strike, how's that it beats every other raid in destiny history?? What?

1 ReplyEoW is more fun...always moving...always shooting...hero moments...great fun. Spire suffers from the oh no we lost someone or did something wrong...wipe.
