I do enjoy empowering rift from time to time. Most notably when using Lunafactions or when I'm running Devour or Dawnblade (with Phoenix Dive) to offset the lack of healing.
Never, ever use it in PvP since there is no crit bonus, only body shot and the battlefield is usually too chaotic to sit in one tiny spot for such a small boost.
I'll be using it a lot more once Starfire Protocol gets its buff and gives [fusion] grenade energy with Empowered kills. It's already a fun "build" for Grenadier Heroics, but should soon be that much better.
pvp, with the exotic armor that highlights targets, yes. it is decent.
in pve, all u need is an empowering rift and luna boots, and u could melt anything
Raid bosses.
You don’t have to worry about taking damage, and the boost to damage (and auto loading of weapons if you’re using Lunfaction boots) is a real team benefit.
Otherwise the healing benefits (given this game’s really slow baseline health regeneration) is worth giving up.
Empowering is good for damage on Argos, especially with Lunafaction boots, My record is two phasing him i believe
Darci and sleeper = DMG out the waazoo
PvE, I use it to melt down strike bosses, and of course it’s nice for raid bosses. But literally everywhere else I use healing rift. It’s vastly superior in any situation you’re taking damage., because healing rift heals more than empowering rift adds to your damage.
