Like most people playing this game, I completely avoided using single shot launchers. That was until I got schooled pretty bad in a PVP match by someone using flash and thunder. I decided to use it myself, let me tell you I haven't had this much fun with PVP in a while. Anyone else on here use them? And any advice on load outs that complement them?

2 RepliesOrewing's maul is the only single shot GL you really need. It has blinding grenades for PvE. No explanation needed here. For PvP though, the real winner is concussion grenades. The blast radius is far larger than flash grenades and will stagger the target, noticeably throwing off their aim. This is arguably better for PvP than blinding grenades because most people can still play through the blinding effect unless you get a direct hit. It also has auto loading holster. Pair it with a decent handling kinetic weapon for quickly swapping and cleaning up while they re-acquire their target. Then switch back to the maul and be good to go again without having to wait to reload. Ophidian aspects help for warlocks to swap weapons if you don't get the kill. Also the lion rampant for titans pairs well because with a GL you really want to be above your target so you can hip fire at their feet. Just don't let go of the trigger until the grenade bounces. Trust me. Concussion grenades are the way to go. Also, take note that status grenade launchers get exponentially better with team play. Throwing off the enemy's aim while they are shooting at an ally can turn the tables very quickly.

Add that with: 1: Top Tree dawnblade or Titan with lion rampart 2: Kinetic Sidearm for in air accuracy 3: Fighting Lion and other Single Shot Launcher of choice Then you throw off their aim with a launcher and finish them from the air where they don’t expect it. Really underrated and fun build

Try fighting lion and home for the lost

I use them all the time, notably Fighting Lion and/or Orewings Maul. If you can become practiced with them they are super good. Probably one of my most used power weapons atm. 😄

Edited by TheTommieC: 7/6/2018 1:29:06 PMI only run Orewing's Maul or Flash and Thunder in pvp, at least for the last two months. (Before that, I was linear fusion rifle only) Shhhh. Keep it down. They're completely underrated. We mustn't let other people know.
I like to pair them with a 540rpm pulse and/or hand cannon/sidearm.
I didn't realize that they could one-shot until someone got me multiple times with one in the most recent Iron Banner. Must have gotten a buff at some point I didn't notice.

Fighting lion and a hand cannon

The Fighting P***y?

Never really been a fan of the single shot grenade launchers and honestly I've been afraid to try them especially in the crucible. After reading this forum I think I will try them out.

8 RepliesI didn't know there were any single shot gl's that we're 1 hit?

I run dire promise, fighting lion and orewings maul pretty exclusively now.

I use fighting lion in the spire raid. It's pretty solid

I actually used Flash and Thunder and some guy messaged me saying was that you because I did so well with it that match. I use the blinding nade and if you have good hand cannon accuracy you can just melt them but playing it safe you can use a sub machine gun

1 ReplySturm drang and orwings maul is my go to at the moment

16 RepliesDon't use them. The only one that you should use is Fighting Lion. It's not because they are bad but it's all to do with power ammo economy. I killed a guy using a single shot grenade launcher as he picked it up off the wall. I ran over, picked up the power and behold! 3 rockets for my Sins of the Past. I'm really surprised that we haven't seen this mechanic being abused.

Use the other drum fed ones that are remote detonated. They are less punishing for missing than in comparison to the single shot ones. I forget because it's been awhile since I've used it. It's like a blue colored grenade launchers with 5 rounds or something. It's a legendary. Sunrise gl I think. It's a beautiful gun.

They are good on certain maps. Maps with lots of walls that hunters like to crouch behind with their shotguns. Just bounce the grenade off the wall and you have a dead hunter. The other day on that new mars map I had a single shot heavy nade launcher and was destroying people with it. Next game was on midtown and I had to switch off of it.

3 RepliesThe only grenade launcher I've ever used is the Prospector.
