Forsaken Cayde-6 death theory
[spoiler]I know this is going to sound crazy weird. Probably out of context. I turned in my weekly treasure map transcripts to Cayde-6, and realized one of them, yes I had seen it before, but didn't pay much attention. Had this interesting theory. "—Here's the skinny, Ace, never trust the Awoken. The Reef type. The ones back on Earth, they're ok. But if you ever find yourself washed up in the Reef, keep your distance. They play by a whole other set of rules like they want to be untrusted. And whatever you do, do not stare into their eyes—"
So Cayde is saying something is wrong with the awoken's eyes. The ones from the reef. So I put together this; What if Uldren has some kind of hypnosis or mind controlling thing. So in the newer Forsaken trailer, we see Cayde looking up, confused. So what if Uldren did that and took his gun because I'm sure he wouldn't just hand it over. (Yes, I also realize he could just be severely beaten.) His ghost also looks at Cayde extremely confused. As that would make sense why the ghost made herself so vulnerable.
Bungie has foreshadowed before and this may just be another way of doing so. Yes, I may just sound crazy, but it's a theory I wanted to share with everyone.

1 ReplySeems everyone is hung up on just Cayde-6 "dying". Bungie revealed that as a distraction. It is "working as intended".

2 RepliesCayde has been reprogrammed or rebooted 5 previous times. Hence the 6. He’s a bot. It’s also been stated that the Hunter Vanguard leader has been replaced several times in D1. Kill off someone else. Ikora or Zavala... They killed of the Speaker and no one in the game blinked an eye.

2 Repliesi know there's alot of talk from bungie about the game needing to change and really pushing that cayde is dead, but what if mara helps us resurrect him? considering the skorn are resurrected eliksni, and mara and the other awoken in the reef are rulers of a fallen house, perhaps there will be a way for cayde to be resurrected through the eliksni methods, maybe not the same as he was but resurrected nonetheless.
