My opinion: I'd side with him. You may think that he'll betray us in the end, and/or devour our planet for more sustenance of pleasure and debauchery, and that our allegiance and pact with him and his loyalists would ultimately mean nothing, I disagree.
Calus has already stated that the reason he doesn't end our race and consume our galaxy is because he admires our will of persistence and hope against impossible odds.
He also believes that the coming evil that will dawn in our universe will be the end of everything, and that no one will be able to relinquish this darkness, or fight back against it. I believe that Calus is in the right at wanting to retake his Cabal Empire that was taken from him. Although he believes the end is coming, he still wants to regain all that he lost. The Cabal Empire has now turned into an imperial state of militaristic renewal, making their Empire a more 'warmongering' one.
Calus has stated that he wants to unite the other races and his retaken empire to become a more peaceful and prosperous nation of societies. It is in his ideology and belief (and mine), that the Cabal has lost and abandoned many of their traditions, values, and what makes a Cabal, a cabal. He wants to turn the Empire into a more celebratory nation, one that refrains from domination and total destruction of galaxies.

4 RepliesEdited by TheWagn: 7/3/2018 3:46:06 PMCalus gave me my favorite guns: coup, address, sins my favorite armor sets: FAT CABAL TITAN and flight suit hunter from EoW and the best pve experiences: da raids what has the vanguard given me? Nameless midnight and annoying heroic strikes to grind everyweek for 1 milestone? Calus gives me 10+ powerful drops every week. The vanguard and the tower can suck it. Once Cayde is gone I could not care less. Zavala is annoying to even LISTEN to, Ikora is too secretive and untrustworthy. All the vanguard does is send me out to do their dirty work while they stand in the tower to give me “”””loot”””” Catch me on the leviathan growing fat from strength. I will see the end with Calus. Hail the emperor!

Bish!!! I've been a Shadow hopeful since we helped beat Argos. -blam!- the Red Legion. -blam!- Ghaul/ Fuc Val Co'our! Emperor Calus 4 LYFE!

1 Replyonly good cabal is a dead one calus threatens us with eating nesus and we are supposed to join him no thx
-
Can we take it a step further past just an alliance? Like a... relationship?
-
3 RepliesIf we side with Calus, does that mean we can no longer shoot space rhinos? 'Cause that would be bad.
-
1 ReplyIt would be like working for jabba the Hutt
-
I just hope they don't drop Calus. I love all the lore associated with him.
-
1 ReplyAt this point I’m more allied with calus than the vanguard
-
I would side with him, but not serve him. If Calus was the emperor of the Cabal, and we were his allies, then we could theoretically protect humanity even more so. The cabal are a giant military race, so it’s not surprise they could easily aid us in our endeavors. Even if we don’t side with them, Calus taking back the empire would allow us to have one less enemy on our backs.

1 ReplyI would accept an invitation of camaraderie, but as far as allegiance it’s a no. I serve no one. Although Calus loves his subjects and even acknowledges their power, he sees them as basically as the pheces of bugs (bugs poop right?) in comparison to him. He believes he has no equal. Plus, as you explore the lore you learn that Calus really doesn’t believe the coming threat can be defeated and he really doesn’t plan to fight it. He wants to be the last one to die to it so that he can say he stood as the Zenith of life as the coming threat isn’t life but only death itself. He only wants to recruit guardians to achieve the goal of “last to die”. IMO that’s a bitch way to go out. I’d rather fight and kill, or at least try to kill whatever is that’s coming whether it’s darkness or death itself.
-
Now this is pure speculation, but I think he could help us in D3. The darkness comes and Calus realizes we can’t do it alone. So, in order to push back the darkness, he allows his forces to assist us. Then we can have space rhino friends! Again, pure speculation. There’s probably something out there that proves I’m wrong.

1 ReplyI just want a peaceful life with my master and the rest of the women I love so dearly. With all this war and stuff, it leaves almost no quality time with my harem Nevertheless, anyone who wants to try and prevent me from my peaceful time with all my wives will feel the full wrath of the Red Dragon of Domination

Once you beat spire of stars your one of his shadows, so theirs that
-
I’ll side with anyone who isn’t a liberal
-
Calus is lookin like a snack 😭😭😭
-
There’s a reason the traveler didn’t choose the Cabal... Siding with them could have drastic consequences. They’d have to declare peace and make up for their horrific deeds before I’d even consider it.

Can we bang? It's a fallout thing.

I'll never side with someone who's yet to share his sippy cup with me.
-
Accept his invitation. One, it will give us the chance of seeing how his fighters battle, so even if he attacks us, we'll have some leg to stand up. Say no, he'll give us no chance to prepare. He'll fight us into submission. Like he has done to species like The Clipse. And two, he is probably one who can give the resources AND new Technology to fight back the Darkness.
-
Only if he gives us a faster ttk
-
I’ll side with him, but I’m not loyal to him. I got my eye on that royal rhino and his galactic winebar.
-
6 RepliesIf he'd let the sweeper bot sell the raid handcannon at next reset i would side with him 100 %
-
I mean if we help him chances are he’s gonna leave so thats probably the better option

I mean, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I sure as hell won't side with him, but I am not siding against him
