i keep seeing player suggest that solo players use LFG to raid.
they say "make your own group" if you can't find a team to join.
here's my attempt from an hour ago.

edit:
didn't see the "title" option. that's why it says "Raid."
edit2: i get what players are saying about watching videos, but that's not an option for me.
i don't watch movie/game trailers because i prefer going blind.
edit3: after 22 hours the post was filled. waiting for players to join.
edit4: after 30 minutes, 1 of the 5 joined.

I think they mean lfg in general. There's the one you used which is ok but not as reliable as the lfg on Xbox which is pretty popular (idk if PS has one) and of course lfg.net Plus in your post mention things that draw people in like "I'm 385 light" " experienced players only" stuff like that
-
When and if you get into one just play the blame game that's a thing in destiny raids xD
-
It says all spots filled. Did you eventually get a team?

i don't watch movie/game trailers because i prefer going blind.
You're wasting your time and not helping yourself. If you want the experience of going in blind you should do it when the raid first drops. After that you're better off watching a video and learning.

6 RepliesEdited by Dr0p119: 7/6/2018 1:09:31 AMDo not tell anyone you haven't, join anyone and just copycat after a wipe. Blame the host, that'll get you 30min of exp in the raid at the least. https://youtu.be/OchyYnlHTdo

I only use Xbox clubs there’s literally hundreds of posts 24/7. The destiny app is dead. I don’t know what other people think but I stopped using destiny app because it’s badly designed and they constantly keep changing it. Does PlayStation have an equivalent of Xbox clubs. Try that if they do.

6 RepliesJust try guided games Within a few hours it'll of matched u up with others

Might I suggest that you post something like this
Fresh Leviathan (Title) Experience preferred Mic required No raging Let’s get it done!
Just using the word “Raid” is a huge red flag. They’re going to know you’re brand new. We have 4 types of raids. Lev, Prestige Lev, EoW and SoS. So no one really knows which raid you want to run Presentation Matters! Good Luck!

1 ReplyThere should be a section for beginners and solo players and a section for experienced players regardless of activity. I love joining with Mr. 420_SSJxBlaze and hearing him chew everyone out over the 2nd wipe even though he doesn't finish his words properly in the first place.

Edited by DarthBra: 7/4/2018 6:41:51 AMLFG is great provided you have experience. If you want to go in blind and I agree it’s a cool experience then you need to find five other friends off your friends list to help you go through. You don’t want to see a video, You will have zero knowledge of the best weapons to bring, You will not have any idea how to do each encounter. LFG is really for experienced players, to be honest yes there are Sherpas and if that is what you require and I see it is then can I recommend you wait until you see a post for this. Forcing others to take their time out to help you is going to take a long time to fill a lobby especially if like a guy says above, you are unwilling to bump or refresh your post. I Sherpa every weekend but I am more impressed when I see someone say to me, I have seen a video I have a rough idea and I have brought with me a selection of weapons that I hear are good for the raid. That makes my job a little easier and I can see that person is committed to trying their best to finish the raid. If a blind raid is what you want go in with friends, I would argue though that you are missing the point. A blind raid is a blind raid for everyone !! Not just for you !! As you would likely be the only player going in blind that makes you lazy, unco-operative, stubborn and pig ignorant. And with all due respect all of these are traits of a person that I would not want to be raiding with. Good team mate/fireteam member traits are, Organisation, (This is top of list) and includes knowing what weapons to bring and a little of what each encounter entails. Helpful, Able to take criticism without losing control, Level headed and relaxed. Not a hot head and won’t talk over people. Doesn’t think they know it all even though they have over 200 raid compositions. That to me is a good team mate, that to me is someone I want to roll with. If you want a blind raid find five other people that have never done the raid and be prepared to never finish even one encounter. If you want to finish the raid then pull your big girl panties up and accept that you need to watch a video and then find a Sherpa team. Good day. Or watch a video bring some weapons and give me a shout. DarthBra on Xbox live. xX-DarthBra-Xx on PlayStation network. There’s my offer it’s up to you to decide what you want to do ?

Wouldn’t worry about raiding, at this point. I don’t have the patience for all the nozzles that appear in them. You may not have that, either. Do the NF, with/without a mic for endgame. You’ll be okay to get very near the highest light level doing most milestones and grinding Valor. “Git gud, Scrub,”is the cancer of this game, that’s easily part of a bigger disease, as is.

24 RepliesYou shouldn’t have to watch a video of the raid, the tryhards forget that they did it blind too on day 1 of raid release. There’s just too many unhelpful sweaty tryhards just looking for completions to boost their destiny cv. Nobody has patience to teach new guys, it’s pathetic. But yeah lfg is awesome 👏🙄
-
I have LFG'd since the Dark Below, sometimes you have shitty luck, most it mostly works out. I hadn't done a single raid in D2 since warmind. I wanted to get higher light so I can run EP for shotgun. Posted that I had never done the raid before, got picked up, got some experience and now I raid all the time. As a SOLO player, I have had NO ISSUES getting to 385. Took me 3 weeks to FINALLY get a class item for my Titan. Did I bitch and moan, no, just wait til the following week. Milestones, nightfalls, leviathan normal and eater of worlds ONCE. RNG my friend, but no excuses.

Edited by BlaskiPlaski: 7/4/2018 9:12:06 AMDON'T USE THE BUNGIE LFG!!! Use destinylfg.net it's way more active. Finding raid teams on lfg is hard but it's possible. I've done leviathan and eater of worlds with the help of that lfg website. I always used it in d1 but now i mostly do them with my clan. But when the clan doesn't get enough players together lfg is really useful. Pick lfm and type 5 choose the raid you want to do and type in some stuff to get people to join. "381 titan lfm5 fresh SoS must have mic and darci or borealis and be 370+. You don't have to be experienced but know what to do. Msg me on psn for party invite." This is what i would write if i wanted to do spire of stars but there are not that many that want to do spire of stars so i'll probably not get a group together. Join an active clan that has a discord server if lfg is too complicated. Clans are often more friendly an accepting when it comes to people who haven't raided before. Going blind into a raid is very hard because people have to explain it to you which means you don't get to see it which would give you a better understanding. I didn't go into any d1 raid blind or d2 raid but i'm going to try it with the raid coming in forsaken. Going in blind is something i can only recommend to experienced raiders. Do leviathan after watching a tutorial (i liked "leviathan for dummies") and after completing it not blind try doing eater of worlds blind. It's way easier and could be done blind without a problem. Spire of stars is the hardest raid in any destiny game in my opinion so watch plenty of tutorials and make sure you know all of the damage strategies. You could also make an lfg post so that people invite you. Where you state some stuff like light level, class and if you are experienced with the raid.
-
Welp, I guess you gotta throw in the towel then. No raids for you, ever. If you're so interested in going in blind, try Spire of Stars. Still a lot of people who haven't done it, but be prepared to spend around 15 to 20 hours learning it.

Edited by V: 7/4/2018 7:35:18 AMMust have 2500 grimoire, gjallarhorn, ice breaker and 50 vog clears. Quick run no kids, no squeakers. Guided games is a good idea, but no one will help for no reasons, there should be more rewards for guides.

*Must have 50+ clears*

Don't go in blind unless you are in a team that is also blind and you are just doing it for fun, i did that in D1. I get that you don't want to spoil the surprise of it but you are wanting five other people who just want to finish the raid quickly, not many would want to take someone who doesn't have a clue what to do. Here's my advice, worked for me. Watch a video, you will know the areas and the basic principles to beat each area. You will still need help to know exactly what to do, it just saves the other five people that bit of time. You could start your own group, but I would look for one that doesn't specify about experienced, and tell them first thing that you are inexperienced too. Most people will give you a chance and as long as you don't suck it will be fine. There's really no point going in blind with randoms who know the raid, they will just have to tell you what happens and that just wastes everyone's time.
-
8 RepliesYour helpless. You say you refuse to watch a video because you want to go in blind. Be honest you want a carry, and its players like you being selfish and not taking the time to ready yourself and waste everyone's time is why we post such crazy demands for raids.
-
2 RepliesWow... You are the most entitled person I've seen on these forums.
-
Wow. Well, I would suggest a third party website because nobody uses Bungie.net but since you wanna go blind, good luck finding people anywhere.
-
4 RepliesI’m terribly sorry that you are unmotivated to find a solution to your problem. Tip:
there are a lot of solutions
Edited by JKLCSM: 7/4/2018 6:09:27 AMA few more details in the title and thread goes a long way. Title like "Fresh Leviathan need a guide" will at least get the attention of the right people if they are around. A title like "Raid" when there is leviathan, prestige leviathan, EoW, SoS and then you have checkpoints for each raid boss/encounter, having something so generic is not going to catch many people's attention let alone get you the right audience. The thread should detail things like: Mic needed, at least one experienced guided needed, patience required as this is a first timer. Willing to listen and learn. If you want people to put effort into helping you in a raid, you can at least put some effort in a LFG thread.
-
Look for a group the is teaching someone
-
You can be solo without making yourself look as unappealing as possible.
-
Read a guide it takes literally 2 minutes then post fresh Leviathan raid need 5. When you inevitably -blam!- up just say "I haven't done this in a long time any tips" bam you'll be done.
