I am getting so annoyed with players leaving matches even if you are up ahead. It is just so frustrating.
I would say give the people who leave a game on purpose a penalty of 100 points on Glory rank and a full level drop on Valor.
If they are in a fireteam the people in that fireteam lose 35 points. Max you can lose in Glory or half a level in Valor.
The people not in that fireteam should not lose anything, but can still get their points if they win.
If anybody got a better idea please share your thoughts.

Old thread but just had to say this. In comp sure penalize them but in quick play that would be absolute BS to introduce a quitting penalty. It'd be like adding a penalty for leaving a strike or something, which is ridiculous. If you are so concerned with winning maybe you should get a team of sweats together to play competitive. Not saying I don't want to win also but if a match is a waste of my time due to being a bad match then I'm leaving before I end up getting angry. No point in getting pissed off at something you could have totally avoided. Oh and also, a teammate leaving in quickplay has never influenced the outcome of any match Ive ever been in. Only on comp it has.

A player who quits cannot join any activity until the match he quits has ended. (Including visiting the tower.) Its not too severe, but will still keep people from quitting.
-
If crucible didn't suck people wouldn't quit out as much. It's not gonna change and in September there will be more excuses. That is what they excel at the most.

2 RepliesEdited by Steve McCord: 7/3/2018 8:59:01 PMI leave matches all the time. Not even sorry. Crucible is bullcrap.
-
How about the first who leaves get's what's coming to them but rest of the "team " can quit without penalty. I know some virgins probably find a way to exploit this but I have started comp games with just me and one person against 4.

Zzzzzzzz.......

Half a level in Valor? -blam!- off the only time leaving matters is Glory (comp). In quick play who cares. If Bungiee refuses to only put solo players against solo and cut this premade vs solo bullshit people will be leaving games that are blatantly -blam!-ing unbalanced and rigged. Not to mention the whole peer vs peer server shit that allows network manipulators to run rampant.

My recommendation would to be a better teammate. I'M NOT SAYING THIS WILL FIX EVERY PROBLEM, but record your game, see how you can improve. I guarantee if you're one of those mindless bots that runs circles around the map going after every point instead of defending two points, or you're the guy that moves about 15 feet and camps every time you spawn, or has no idea how to support teammates when they're near you shooting back you're probably contributing to people quitting. AGAIN, I'M NOT DEFENDING QUITTERS, I'm simply trying to make YOU PEOPLE aware of how you may be able to help the issue.

Give them a timeout and point s penalty.

5 RepliesEdited by Shaded Gaming X: 7/2/2018 5:41:27 PMThe problem is that people have lives, and not everyone can stay around to finish every game they join. Solution? turn everyone into mindless video game addicts who haven’t seen the sun since last Friday.
lol dude it’s not the end of the world
2 RepliesEither dedicated servers or remove competitive. I'm not really seeing other options here.

I agree there should be a taco stand in the tower. No seriously the quiting pussies should be banned for repeatedly leaving. I understand you may get an apple or beaver once in awhile but it is obvious who the repeat offenders are.

I would never leave a match unless it there was a technical issue or a flat out emergency.. that being said I've found myself wondering, "why an I here " after getting dropped into obvious no win situations.. to be honest , bungie should and could make some sort of remedial program for low end players .. Everyone starts out the same at the beginning of the season , but based on your first 25 matches it could be determined that a players skill level is detrimental to game play and would have to take training courses set to help imrove players game play .. I.E matches with bots , at the end of the matches they can get some tips and data on how they are improving.. once a player has reached a positive KD on a consistent level , he or she can be reintroduce to the game cue .. this could help overall solo cue play .. players could still fireteam up and play with clanmates ..

1 ReplyYea Bs, bc shit happens, real world issues do arise and I shouldnt be losing points because of it. I think a 10 to 20 min lockout should be applied.
-
I think if someone on your team leaves, you should be able to leave free of penalty

7 RepliesThere could be several reasons for someone dropping from a game. Maybe the power went off. Happened to me yesterday mid strike. Be cool if there was a way to re-join.
-
3 RepliesMy idea would be to not get so pissy about it. I quit mid game if I've completed call to arms (bare in mind that's the only reason some people play pvp).
-
I second this. And I've only ever been kicked once so...
-
I would love this if it was not for bungie's shit servers kicking you 3x per day.
-
1 ReplyYou do lose glory for leaving mid match and also a competitive ban for a short period. As for quick play who cares if someone leaves that mode is for casuals who can come and go as they please.

Ive gone down by 300 points today because of this. Peoole leave after losing one round its extremely frustrating.
