As everyone who had been up to date with Destiny 2 knows, Bungie has confirmed that the Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6, who in my personal opinion is the best of the Vanguard, is sadly being killed off permanently this coming expansion by that dirt bag piece of scum Awoken Uldren Sov. This was probably done because Nathan Fillion recently got his own show, the Rookie, on ABC and is too busy to voice Cayde anymore, but who knows. Why Bungie choose show that horrifying trailer of what I think is a huge spoiler at E3 still evades me, would’ve been better if it happened while I played and didn’t see it coming. but sadly I have come to terms that the best NPC in Destiny will soon be gone forever. After reluctantly accepting this cold hard fact, I started thinking who could possibly replace Cayde in the tower after he’s gone. With Eris Morn missing and Ana Bray on Mars, the only suitable candidate I could think if to take his place was Shiro-4, who was introduced in Destiny: the Iron Lords. He is apparently Cayde-6’s protege and assists Saladin at the Iron Temple, but nothing much is known about him other than the fact that his exotic weapon is a three round burst hand gun. Now the Vanguard has always been diverse, each part of a difference race representing each class of guardian. In my own opinion, Shiro, having proven himself capable since the SIVA Crisis, would be a suitable replacement for Cayde since he is an Exo and a Hunter. Thats how I think things may play out, but who knows what’ll happen after this. All I know after Cayde-6 is gone, I’m probably gonna, pause the game and take a moment of silence to let it sink in and continue playing, then I will stop at nothing to put a bullet in Uldren’s head for killing the best NPC in this series. Then I will hope whoever is chosen as the new Hunter Vanguard isn’t lame or a carbon cooy of Cayde. I’m hoping it’s Shiro-4, but who’s to say until Forsaken is released.
