Can we just talk about how stormcaller is just terrible. It was good in d1 cuz warlocks didn’t have an a crowd clearing super, now they have dawnblade which is just better. And in pvp you get effectively no damage resistance and short use time. And the melee, that extra range feels non existent. Also the fact that you can kill yourself with nova bomb is pretty dumb considering all the close range tight corners in pvp.

4 Repliesthats because your not supposed to be nova-panicing people in your face. im glad it kills you.
-
Forsaken buff = omg
-
1 ReplyYou get a huge damage resistance can you even math. Golden gun gets zero armor buffs and stormcallers arent made for pvp and they still can clear out full teams instantly so your point is???

6 RepliesBeen a Warlock main since D1 beta and Stormcaller is in a terrible spot right. If you compare the Stormcaller super to the Arcstrider super, Arcstrider completely and utterly destroys it. In PvE you’d be lucky to kill a single yellow bar with a full Stormtrance, Arcstrider wipes the whole room and then some with time to spare. In PvP Arcstrider again is superior, with more speed, unlimited dodges which cause you to take less damage and more range with their strong attack. Their only saving grace is Arc Soul and that’s only in PvP, it’s damage is barely noticeable in PvE.
-
I don’t want that super to be any better lol. I do agree though, that warlocks have lack luster supers compared to hunters and titans. As far as nova bomb, it’s hard enough to throw one and not die from team shot. Killing yourself with one is ridiculous. Even if you throw it at your feet, it’s not as bad as a fist of panic.
-
Agreed. Stormcaller's easily the worst Warlock subclass and arguably the worst Arc subclass as well.
-
With the inbound kamehameha update it could be a viable constant dps super.
-
You want to test how how weak stormcaller really is? Use is in Throne Room Prestige Leviathan , or against 4 arc striders or any other super in the game. Get rekt is an understatement. You know what its like to zap am arc stider for 5 seconds and he just smiles , cartwheels and sticks his pole up your ass? Or when you’re trying to kill any major in the game they just sit there and take it and punch you to death. It’s really best used for trash mobs and against guardians who a) have no map awarness and b) aren’t smart enough to shoot you to death/ jump away. Using it against big targets is exactly where the super lacks, and don’t even attempt to use it against another super, you will die embarrassingly.

The whole design ethic of Destiny 2 was to nerf our Guardians, and make it play more like a campaign/competitive shooter. The game is still suffering from this attempted rebranding of the franchise.

1 Replyin PVP, stormcaller used to be absolutely brutal. almost unstoppable. you could get 3 or 4 kills everytime. basically if you saw one coming, you might as well just sit down and wait for him to kill you. now, it is just a joke. i was playing this weekend and a guy popped stormtrance. i took him out in like 2 seconds with Positive Outlook auto. and it's even worse in PVE. decided to try it out this week since i haven't used it for quite awhile. go into the nightfall this week (savathuns song). 1 full stormcaller super won't even take out a yellow bar knight. it'll get him super low health, but your super runs out before he's dead. i guess it's only good for clearing out the weak thralls. but what's really the point of that?

3 RepliesWarlock main here and i agree with everything you said. I personally would like the movement speed of Stormcaller to be faster and the Nova Bomb should NOT kill the player using it. Not to mention all the grenades outside of the arc pulse grenades are weak AF.
-
1 ReplyCrown of tempest should be to Stormcaller as Raider Flux is for Arcstrider
-
I tested the extra range with a friend, and it provides absolutely no range bonus. It's just a normal melee that hits with lighting instead.
-
6 RepliesIf a titan doesnt kill himself with Hammers, a warlock shouldnt kill himself with Nova Bomb- common sense.

Edited by PR4X1S: 7/2/2018 8:16:39 PM1.Accidental Suicide by Nova is the worst.😬 2.Warlock lightning doesn't target while your in the air, or target invisible enemy's 😬. Bungie fix this in an update please, it ain't gone enough.
-
7 RepliesKilling yourself with nova bomb doesn't reflect poorly on the super, but rather the user. That's operator error. Nova is fine.
-
I find stormcaller to be excellent in pvp? I think its just user error.
-
8 RepliesEdited by TotalDramaGamer: 6/30/2018 9:12:32 PMHave you seen the upcoming Crown of Temptests buff? Hopefully that will solve the Stormtrance duration issue. Seeing as how it's super easy to get 3 stacks even with just melee/grenades, I could see the Stormtrance getting a good 10 seconds extra in the long run (if you stack immediately, which you should)

3 RepliesStormcaller only needs a pve buff

3 RepliesIt could use tweaks here and there (what class/Subclass doesn't, though?), but it's solid overall. Sure its Super could use more PvE damage - most notably vs heavier foes- but again, that's a complaint many other subclasses have. I personally still use it all the time. My specific wish is that all classes had more perks and the ability to mix-and-match. Even if we still had a 4-perk node to fill with each slot having 3 or more options.

3 RepliesI have been a Warlock main since the D1 beta and I beg to differ with your opinion and here’s why: In Crucible I actually main a Stormtrance Warlock. You get one of the best nades (pulse or even arc bolt if you prefer that) and the most underrated small buddy. Arc soul. Once you get a feel for the damage on those, you can get enemies low then dodge them and let the arc souls finish them off. Since the radar is a little cheeks (at least compared to D1), you can float above doorways and landfall to unsuspecting victims that cross through doorways. From my experiences with the subclasses, I think enemies have to be killed within 1 less tick of the super because there have been too many instances where a special weapon out damaged my super when chasing them down (looking at you Graviton) and maybe just a little bit more damage resistance because due to its lack of mobility (at least without ionic blink and even then), it can easily be gunned down if the super isn’t used near you. I forgot to mention standing near allies to gain your rift energy faster is also underrated. More rift=more arc souls=more damage. A match that I lost 4-2 in competitive against people way above my skill level cause you know... “good Matchmaking”, I had 9200 damage and the other team messaged me for props lol. All with the power of Stormtrance baby.

"Dawnblade" and "better" don't go into one sentence unless combined with "not". It's soooo bad....
-
Yeah arc warlocks were great in destiny for both pve and PvP. It melted everything but ultras. The chain lightning damage needs a massive boost in d2. You know its trash when it can't kill a single yellow bar in calus throne room. We all know bungie don't want the chain lightning -blam!-ing up there PvP "Team Shooter" which they call d2. Its the only thing that makes sense in why they made this class suck
-
I've been having a lot of fun treating Stormcaller like a D1 Fist of Havoc. Shock and Awe initially, then maybe mop up any stragglers if they survived/were out of range
-
2 RepliesEverything needs buffed but I’m worried destiny will never be the same and it has perm turned into a space version of call of duty black ops 3. Grenades are weaker. Supers are much weaker and charge at a tortoise rate, melees have been weakened to the point that I barely use it anymore because I forget I have it. Guns are weaker. Rocket launchers no longer track (except for one?). The only great exotic we have is DARCI. This reminds me of D1. All of the other good exotics have a fatal flaw. Sunshot is sunshit with only 8 rounds. Dragonfly sucks compared to D1. TL;DR everything, literally everything in destiny 2 has been nerfed and I think it’s the #1 reason D2 died. With 1a being the whole PR nightmare destiny 2 suffered in the first few months.
