Make faction emblems the trigger for renown.
Get the emblem for pledging. You put it on, you get renown. System works as it does now. Armor enhances renown gains. Ghost shell grants more faction consumables. Gear should have a list like the prismatic matrix.
This way, the system is optional(no emblem, no renown). Gear is attainable by grinding packages, which then gives more renown, which then allows for more faction tokens.

1 ReplyThat's too easy. Everything in D2 needs to be mechanics-based. To turn on/off renown: - Participate in public event and only make it heroic when the timer reaches 0:01 - Kill the boss with only Arc Souls - Lastly, make a post on the forums saying "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain" and then fast travel to the Tower. Upon arriving, Tess will carry a unique consumable for some silver and gives a .01% chance to turn on/off renown, but it disappears 10 seconds after arriving, and since you'll likely be stuck on the black loading screen for the duration, you'll have to repeat the process.
