Im blowing the whistle on Zavala...

Palpatine Zavala is the agent of The Darkness. He has been undermining our attempts to restore the light from day one, and sending gaurdians to certain death. I, nameless voiceless guardian, can take it no longer. The day of reckoning has arrived. #1: Rasputin, the single most powerful achievement of humanity, and our greatest hope in surviving this fight; yet Commander Zavala has fought our efforts to recommission the Warmind at every turn. Suspicious? He even darted away from his responsibilities in the City to quietly murder Ana Bray in her mission to reach Rasputin. Lucky for Ana, we found her first. #2: Zavala uses his 'strikes' to systematically kill guardians. Savuthun's song: his Butch protege Sloan repeatedly sends fireteams down in small groups, watching as one by one they are---wait for it---consumed by Darkness. And don't let Failsafe&Failsafe fool you either: you really think we got radio disconnected from Cayde-6 and Ikora by "accident"? Zavala had his AI tool cut us off, to die at the hands of Thaviks, while he pontificates in the background about how he'll 'save us himself'. Sounds fishy, right? Lucky for us, everyman's hero Cayde can crack a code. Which leads us to... #3: ZAVALA KILLED CAYDE-6!!! BOOOOOOOM! Am I right?!?! Cayde is free-spirited; loyal to us guardians, not the Vanguard; routinely disobeys Zavala; and come on: we all know Cayde-6 is THE good guy. He's got our backs in the wilds. When the red legion swept the city(where were you, "Commander" Zavala?) Eris Morn, with better knowledge of the Darkness than anyone outside of Zavala's conspiracy, mysteriously disapears. She was Cayde's frenemy. Zavala had her killed. Ikora is abandoned on Io(alone). Cayde herocially takes off to kill Gaul, but ends up prisoner of **cough** the Vex(aka---Failsafe). And old Zavala has an army & his right hand lieutenant, Sloan. And a good place to sacrifice guardians to Savathun. But we rescue Cayde. Find Ikora. Find our light again. Zavala has to play along. He tries to insult Hawthorn into running away from the fight; he nearly gets Ikora killed in the battle to retake the city; and he almost succeeds in killing Cayde that night (he takes an arm off, anyway). We win the battle, Zavala's nemesis the Traveller wakes up, he lies low. Consolidates power, and decides HE gets to hand out TWO engrams a week, not one. When Osiris resurfaces, Zavala keeps his mouth shut: he's working on his fool-proof plan. When Ana returns, he takes off to kill her and stop Rasputin from turning back on, but we foil him. So he calls in a favor from an old Awoken friend. Prince Uldren... They stage a prison break in the Reef. Of course Cayde-6 will launch his rocketship to clean that mess up, and we'll go with him. It's a 2-for-1 special. We find Uldren, he acts all friendly, and the minute we all split up, my man Cayde-6 is outnumbered, out-gunned, and out-armed. Betrayed. Killed with his own gun(cue borimir's death scene music from fellowship of the ring). But, as always, Commander Zavala Palpatine, you underestimate me. I survive. I now know your secret: Cayde's death has been a plan long in the making, your Darkness has awoken and is headed towards Earth, and you think you're safe atop your strong tower. But I'm coming for you. You'll look down the barrel of my trusty Hard Light, and then I'll Nova bomb you straight into the Void from whence you came. P.S. the only other explanation is that D2 is such a failed game that bungie had to kill it's most polular character in a desperate attempt to arouse some passion in it's waning playerbase. But come on: a glowing-blue-skinned dude that shaves his head and puts on lipstick??? How is he not the bad guy. #edit Fun to see this conspiracy theory taking off. I almost went with a Julius Ceasar/Messiah complex, on how only Zavala with consolidated power could save humanity. But I went with the darker tone. And yes everyone, this is only a joke. (Or is it?)

  • But in the first mission Iof d2, we see zavala use a bubble shield, meaning he has light from the traveler. If the traveler can sense whos good and bad, wouldn't that mean he wouldn't have been born in the light in the first place?
