Both are on sale on steam for 30 euro so which one is better in your opinion and why?

Having been an SAO fan and having played all the games, I have to say I enjoyed Hollow realization more, but it's mostly because I prefer a fantasy vibe in my RPGs instead of a sci-fi setting, as in terms of a gameplay experience, I'd have to say fatal bullet wins due to all the customization features for your skill set, but for a better story and visuals I'd say hollow realization

Alright having have bought it and played a few hours, reaching level 9... Hollow realisation is pretty good, it's a bit confusing at first but you'll understand it fast enough and then it won't be a problem. A thing to note is its basically like an mmo (albeit singleplayer made to feel like multiplayer, which it does do well) mixed with a visual novel with the amount of dialogue there is in cutscenes. It also has an anime opening after you play for a bit.

I've heard people say that both are good... I need to say that because I've enjoyed them all and know many have not liked the first few. I would say go with Hollow Realization. I own all the SAO games and gotta say I love the alternate timeline they're on after one little incident that happened in Re:Hollow Fragment. Things are going to be mentioned and characters will be there from previous games that weren't in the anime... so I say go with the first title a lot of people enjoyed.

Edited by Barvald: 6/25/2018 8:55:52 PMPersonally, I enjoyed Hollow Realization a lot more. It plays like, and has the customization of, an action-mmorpg, but it also has a pretty good story (definitely above your average mmo). There aren't classes, but rather there are weapon-types that allow you to unlock skills as you gain experience with that weapon. There are even Extra Skills, like Kirito's Dual Wield, that you can unlock. Just know that your game play will be broken up by almost 'visual novel' amounts of dialogue. Hollow Realization was the only SAO game I've enjoyed and played through to endgame, and I have all of them (assuming there are just the 4, I'm not counting Accel because I've heard that was basically a DLC). Basically, if you like SAO, you will probably like Hollow Realization.

To understand the full story of both games you should play the first one but if I had to choose probably fatal bullet.
