Most swords have a maximum ammo count of less than 30. With a maximum capacity that low it’s hard to justify running them in mid to end game content. They need a massive backpack capacity buff to make them more viable in content like heroic strikes. Using half your ammo on a single target like a Knight doesn’t feel fun or embrace the Destiny power fantasy. More ammo capacity would allow players to tackle both majors and low tier enemy’s like thrall or dregs effectively without becoming overpowered. On a related note sword guard is not an effective use of ammo. Blocked hits drain far too much far too quickly exacerbated by the limited ammo reserves. Furthermore, adding a reflect ability akin to the Destiny 1 artifact would make sword blocking more interesting to use.

And it wouldn't even affect PvP! Heavy only gives swords about 6-7 swings there. What happened to the 50 ammo for legenary swords, and nearly 100 for the exotic ones with the artifact

1 ReplyBlocking? What's that? :P

They need to go back to D1 damage levels and more exotic swords for damage options on bosses.

Sorry bud, this is a PvP game despite PvE having a higher player count!

Well my crown spliter can 3 or 4 hit kill knights and its perks allows me to gain ammo back meaning I only use 2 or 3 out of its 25 ammo ssssoooo yea ammo maybe small for your puny weak katanas but ammo is just right for my crownspilter claymore and its speced for damage not ammo. Ammo spec gives it 32 "hits".

Swords need to be reverted back to D1 status.. and that includes the lackluster lunge, and sound of the sword. Also the exotic sword, Worldline zero, only has 27 ammo... exotic swords in D1, had around 60 ammo. That is just sad.
