The worst of the worst destiny players
Before all the defensive sorry players think about bashing me for the title alone hear me out. One example I'll use is Escalation Protocols, although Strikes and their modifiers would fit in here as well.
I'll see people run arcstrider, storm caller, sentinel, golden gun, dawnblade and I very much understand some people just don't know any better when it comes to this event on what to use for supers. But when I see you're a 375+ that tells me you should know more than your average 340 who's roaming Mars.
So any time I see something like this I'll quickly message a stormcaller, "explosive nova and void weapons/tractor cannon" or something along the lines of that. And for any non tether hunter I'll message them, "tether". So why does it seem like the people who are contributing the least always have their messages blocked from all users? The one's I see actually doing work and not wasting their supers/heavys in terrible areas usually have messaging open. But the ones who are completely useless always have their stuff blocked? It seems like these are the players who are bad for Destiny as they refuse to watch, refuse to learn, refuse to change.
Edit: Based on expected responses it is a big reason why we don't have matchmaking for raids or nightfalls. Too many people in the "don't tell me how to play, while I make it more difficult for the team because I don't care" crowd. Then those same people cry the ep is too hard and needs 9 players so there should be matchmaking. You see how hypocritical these players are?
Edit 2: The responses are typical, comparable to competitive in overwatch. We already have two healers, don't tell me not to be a third healer, I paid for the game! Or don't tell me to switch off genji because they have Winston, zarya, moira, torb, and symmetra I PAID FOR THE GAME!
People should cry less when something is said, especially when I'm not yelling, cursing, calling them names, etc. The effort of deflection would be better served for THE TEAM if the same effort was applied in the game to HELP the team. Don't want to change your style to better the team then stay out of team events. Otherwise you are potentially trolling.

I wholeheartedly agree with your post. Take NFs for example. I sherpa lower level guardians all the time, provided they listen to me and follow my loadout recommendations and strats. Bottom line, we’re not in a fireteam to shoot the breeze or screw around, we’re trying to get things done. Its aready expected that Ill have to do most of the carrying, but I expect something from you during the activity. You cant DPS? So what? Help with stunning champs. Create orbs, do SOMETHING. If you’re off playing superhero and getting murdered instead of following instructions, then I’ll kick you. If you insist on using your favorite little weapon that is absolutely useless for the activity we’re doing, you’re gone. If you treat a 1330 nf like a 1230 strike, then you plainly arent ready for those activities.

Maybe open a fireteam in the Bungie app and become a sort of teacher if it bothers you enough. Guide people through EP. Instead of sending a message use your headset to give advice etc. I get what your saying but your comments weren’t constructive. I’m happy to learn, open to criticism and always listen to advice. But if someone sends me a message saying what your saying you’ll definitely get a Negative reaction. Or change your approach to giving advice? I’m dunno man I’m trying to help you to help others of that makes sense.

Constantly swapping out skill trees to better fit a situation isn't "tactical thinking" it's lazy as hell game design. Screw making classes that have depth and can be worked to fit any environment with skill. Just constantly swap skill trees to make use of how simplistic we made everything! Cause we're lazy! Here's a fun realization for players, pick Warlock for example. Dawnblade sure is cool I'm going with that. I'll make all my shaders red/black/orange to go with a fire theme cause I think that would look cool... oh it sucks in almost every aspect... ok I'll go Arc! Make everything blue/teal/white and bam! Oh I'm getting yelled at for using this class. Welp -blam!- this game.

1 ReplyOne of the issues you are having is not your message, but in it's delivery. Instead of saying here's a guide on what I feel you should do, and this is why it's helpful ect. You are basicly telling people that they suck, and are too thick, and stubborn to do it right. People's first reaction to being insulted is to tell that person off, and to spite them, even if they see the message, and realie you might have a point.

5 RepliesTether removes damage boosts from tractor and suncharge.... So that is why i use my arcstrider ... wich outdamages any other super except maybe tractor+slowva bomb.

1 ReplyFor 1, the modifiers in strike are lackluster at best...whoohoo we do a whopping. .25% more damage which equals to NOTHING...so instead of being an egotistical scrubb...be a team player, work with said team n all do ya best...

1 ReplyIt doesn't matter what classes and subclasses people use. After the nerf EP is extremely easy and I've even finished it several times with groups of randoms on Mars and not pre-made fireteams...you don't even need 9 players, it's pretty easy with 6 or 7 players now too.

1 ReplyI keep my messages blocked primarily because of people trying to tell me to play how they want me to play. I tend to run Void while on Mars, but If I am not doing so (for whatever reason) and an EP pops, I'm not necessarily going to stop everything I'm doing and change an entire load-out just because you want me to. If a group is struggling to get to 4, most likely my load-out change isn't going to help enough. If a group is handling things pretty good, I'll change between levels without the need to be told. If a group is slamming it out pretty quick, again, my load-out will most likely not have an effect on the outcome.

The shields on the enemies are solar and arc. If I want to run something other than a void subclass I will. If you don’t like it go to orbit and try again. I don’t think you should be hiding in a corner sending me messages while you should be up and fighting. Get in the game and help out scrub.

I mean sure, correct supers help out more, but let the people run whatever they want. Here comes a shitty example. Its like going into crucible and messaging each person to not run what they are running and to run the meta.

Your edits also aren't doing you any favors or changing hearts and minds about you being condescending either. Here's the thing, if people want your opinion they'll generally ask you for it. The people who paid for the game are correct, they bought the game, they should be allowed to play however they want so long as they aren't breaking the rules. Flexibility works both ways, if you aren't willing to accept that people might want to do things differently then maybe you should leave while we're talking about people not joining activities.

I can agree that if someone is using the wrong super and weapons for the event some would like to give a helping shout out to them to better the event for that person and everyone else. I don't agree with the people who have their messages blocked are completely useless. I have my settings blocked because in D1 (mainly during combined arms) I would get messages of people telling me how much of a douche I am for using the vehicles, telling me I suck because I tear it up with a scout from a distance, calling me foul names because they are such sore losers and need to vent their anger in a heinous way. That is why I blocked out incoming messages, too many d-bags play video games and I don't have the time or patience to bother with that crap. Yeah it can be hindering for times like your saying but some of us have experienced awful players and would rather have everyone blocked to quiet a few douches. But like I said you make a valid point in a good reason to not have it blocked because I didn't know that void is the best to use for EP (thank you for the info, seriously)...

Ran into one guy today while strolling on Mars. He told everyone below 380 to "get out. You're not gonna make it anyway." Would have been fun if OP would have been around with his 376 Hunter. I would have loved to watch their discussion in chat. I have a prefab answer for guys like this or the OP for the chat window: "Who made you the boss around here?"
