Can we please get a buff to gunslinger

Tired of being able to get killed as soon as i pop it. There's is no armor buff and the super lasts maybe 5 seconds flat.   • So, I don't know if people understand why bungie refuses to give them armor, but let me see if I can explain a possible reasoning. So, we know that gunslinger has no travel time on its bullets, which make it a really powerful ranged super, especially against non-supered guardians right? Well from what I assume, it's because of the problems that would arise if it were given armor. Gunslingers aren't hard to put down, but it can quickly turn against you if they see you. Getting vaporized before you even realized they were looking at you is a common thing from my perspective. Sure I could kill them easily with graviton, but what if they see me first? I'll most likely be dead. Now, if they gave it armor, it would not only become difficult to beat at long range, but also at close range as well. Even if it doesn't necessarily have splash damage, groups of 2 can easily be put down by gunslinger because it's so fast. Now If it had armor, it would become a problem especially for people without supers. Sunbreakers are tough people to put down, but at least you can dodge their hammers...but imagine a gunslinger with armor similar to that, it would be nearly unstoppable. I do, however, fully agree that it needs a buff to duration. It's supposed to be a counter super used at the right time to shut enemies down, but it never lasts long enough when you find a place to safely pop the super. At least 2-3 seconds more would be completely reasonable, because it feels so unbelievably short for a super that already has limited ammo. Even though you didn't say it, I would also like if bungie avoided buffing the damage in PvP. Back in Destiny 1, they buffed gunslinger to one shot every super to make it more of a counter super. Now at first it really doesn't seem like a bad idea, but it turned less into a super that required timing and more into a super that punished the enemy for activating their own super. Sunbreakers had travel time so they would usually lose, voidwalkers would get shot down before they got their bomb off, strikers would either trade or die to the gunslinger unless caught off guard, defender...couldnt do anything but pray suppression hit them, stormcaller got vaporized, and sunsinger became sun tan lotion. Arcblades got crapped on even more than they already were. It became more of a hassle to fight against and ultimately kept me away even from fun game modes like mayhem. It was too strong and hard to beat for a super which has no armor...which makes no sense at first but it does once you think about it more. It's basically just gun, something everyone can use, and it was probably among the easiest to use in the game...at least for a gun. No lack of armor kept this super from being super offensive and it put down nearly everything unless you used a skill based tactic. (hiding :3) This is a complete bias against them coming from me, but it really did ruin the crucible in my opinion. Couldn't even have fun in mayhem anymore :/ But a buff to duration is absolutely understandable.

    • Play around the ability...don't just pop it off in front of someone that's been shooting you for the last 5 hours... pop it around a corner... and it doens't last long...but Nova Bomb...is a one shot and done kind of deal...Golden Gun is roaming with built in extension systems, and it can kill anyone from anywhere on the map... it's pretty solid already (and yes I do use Gunslinger)

    • Yeeeeeeeah, no. I can only instant kill people in their supers as a Warlock with my Nova Bomb, GG kills everything in one shot unless you're running some dogshit build.

        Give it 18 seconds so it's actually something you have to actively try to run from like all the other supers. Also, throwing knife is complete ass. Give it a bigger hitbox, give it 30% cooldown off if it misses, and it should be doing 120+ to the head.

      • I would say it needs a longer time but otherwise it's fine. There are times I pop it and then don't find anyone to kill and gone.

      • It's okay where it is! Warlocks have Nova Bomb which is only a single shot with a small blast radius. And they have dawnblade which you have to be as accurate as golden Gun for. Golden Gun is faster and more instant but dawnblade is slow and lasts longer. As well as considering your points I think they should make Golden at least a 4 or 5 shot and make it last a second or two longer.

        • Gunslinger and sentinel take a lot of practice to be good with. At first they seem a bit underwhelming compared to the other subclasses. But at some point I realized how well designed they are, and with the right build, how overpowering they can be.

          • My issue is that as a Gunslinger (Nighthawk) main, I always have issues with Throwing knifes and that they're way too inconsistent, Half the time it looks like I hit crit spots but doesn't (I run the reset knives), and sometimes I hit chest areas but get crit spots. Also I do kinda wish I could Crit Vex with my knives a bit better lol. As for grenades, I just wish my tripmines could stick to enemies/players again! It'd make everything much better again!

            • It's funny to hear people say hit scan for GG with 3 shots but titans and warlock have 6 shots with auto tracking lol ... learn to be objective. Games need balance.

              • Gunslinger duration and shots need increased. Sad that gunslingers have such a short duration and that they have to pick a talent to have 6 shots in a shorter duration... also the fact that gunslingers grenades are the worst of all, tripmine used to be good in D1 and now is horrible. The throwing knife never throws when you want it to and does when you want to mele it's horrible and the throw speed /delay is almost not worth using it. Game and subclasses need balance. I dont want this overpowered meta I want good gameplay back.

                  • I think that it shouldn't receive a damage resist buff, but that enemy players have reduced aim assist when targeting a golden gunner and the hunter can't take critical damage during golden gun.

                      Like a few seconds, but that's enough. Can't have someone run across the map with it. You have to strategically pop it to drop people with finesse.

                      • The super itself is pretty legit in my opinion. PvP it’s a monster and with night hawk you can melt a boss if timed right. But I will agree with the other abilities. Trip mine is terrible, and makes the young Ahamkara’s Spine useless and the throwing knife is sketchy at best.

                          • Golden Gun is the definition of a glass cannon. It’s extremely powerful, being a hitscan ohk super with a ton of range, plus it keeps you in 1st person so the aiming is just like normal. Against other supers, top tree can just hold down the trigger and bottom tree can line up a headshot. The downside is you get shredded very quickly, so you have to react quick. I think it’s the single best super in the game with a skilled enough hand. But for the general community, Arc staff is probably better. To me, it’s neutral game needs a buff. I don’t want it to be OP given how much potential the super has, but it should be a little better than just some mediocre grenades, a dodge and situational throwing knives.

                            • I'm not the greatest player and get multiple kills with either tree? I mostly played around with GG in Mayhem. I can see them making some tweaks but they would need to be fairly small changes. Most of the game could still get buffed. You have to be in cover when you unlock GG or Tether or you are going to die.
