The gist is this, I, and many others, would like to have the option to turn off aim assist for consoles. Honestly, aim assist legitimately ruins gunfights in PvP as well as targeted add clear in PvE consistently. I personally would appreciate the ability to aim where I see fit, not where the game sees it fit for me to be aiming.

8 RepliesYou have no comprehension of what aim assist does. It controls every aspect of control on consoles. An option to tone it down? maybe. Off ? no chance. Every aspect of ingame movement is affected by AA. Look up gdcvault.com, techniques for building aim assist. Its a great talk on just how pervasive and critical the system is.

Aim assist wouldn't be a problem if it didn't take an entire 2 years 3 months and 2 days to kill anything in this game
-
You NEED aim assist on console. Sure, I can agree, sometimes aim assist -blam!-s us over sometimes but we do need it in some shape, way or form
-
1. Aim-Assist is an important part of the "crispiness" of Bungie shooters. 2. Why are you having so much difficulty with it? The only time I even notice it is when there are lots of Cabal hopping around on jump jets...and that's only because they're moving fast enough to "latch" onto my aim. Its annoying, but hardly "ruins" anything.

Yes, the option should be there. But so should a lot of other things we used to have in the game.

4 RepliesYour aim would go to pure s h i t is you removed aim assist and was not using m&k
-
3 RepliesGo be cool somewhere else OP. Aim assist is what makes console shooters playable.
-
I agree, I would definitely turn it off. Unfortunately Bungie uses aim assist in weapon balancing so it'll never happen.

Edited by ShadowWing48: 6/22/2018 8:48:23 PMPLEASE I am so sick and tired of my sight being dragged to the side when Im trying to shoot someone else. I wouldn't have an issue with it if the game wasn't so forceful about it. It takes waaaaaay too much effort to pull my sight back to where I was aiming. It will still track the person it wants to track even when Im correcting it. Edit: Fixed a spelling error

2 RepliesI don't think you know what your asking for. You'd lose 80% of your gunfights.

Unfortunately aim assist works with range in destiny. The more range a weapon has, the higher aim assist. Of course the hidden stats also provide the strength of aim assist on each weapon, on console though, aim assist is both amazing and terrible. I works when it feels like it, I wish it was like overwatch where you cam actually adjust it but it would also mess it up because range is the other reason why aim assist works or not

The fun fact is, that I personal would like to have a slider to INCREASE the aim assistance… In my opinion was the D1 AA the best on consoles.
-
9 RepliesWho would want this? Aim assist is there to help your aim. Turning it off would feel horrible.
-
12 RepliesDoubt it will happen on console. The whole point of developing on consoles is to make the playing field consistent. An option that makes gunplay mechanics different between person to person is something that is likely to be shied away from.

Everthing should have an option, crosshair color and size, match making for all content, enable disable aim assist, increase or decrease field of view, adjust graphics settings. Yeah, some options will make the game unplayable to all but a few. Those that can will use them and those that can’t or don’t want to won’t.

Edited by Rufas-1: 6/22/2018 6:41:11 PMI agree that its annoying as heck when you are in a gun fight and another enemy runs by and you get pulled off target. Happens A LOT and I have lost so many PvP engagements because of it. I think it would be better to just not have it pull you away from a target you are actively engaged with. If you ADS and acquire a target (aim assist helps out on that) and start to shoot that target, then aim assist should not be impacted by other enemies until that target is dead OR you stop ADS.

I need an option to reduce the translucency of the the radar
-
Or at least an option to tone it down. There’s nothing I hate more than my reticule dragging the opposite direction from where I’m aiming.
-
I tried playing horizon zero dawn on the highest difficulty, which disables auto-aim. That was a plain on the ASS man

While you're waiting for Bungie to implement your request, might I suggest going to www.destinytracker.com and looking through the "hidden stats" for your favorite weapons - those numbers include a stat for aim assist. High aim assist is what makes your reticle sticky, and also what makes it pull OFF of your desired target when something else runs in front. I advise you switch to low aim-assist weapons. For example, try using "The Number" instead of "Uriel's Gift." This may wholly or partially solve your problem.

9 RepliesYou would quickly re-enable Aim Assist. What would work is some sort of slider. A slider that clicks at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. You'll set it to zero and find that you can't hit anything. Understand that Aim Assist also acts as a sort of lag compensation system, especially during PvP. What you are asking for is fine if you're at Bungie Studios playing on a Local Area Network. Now, you might set it to 50% and find that it helps because a quickly moving enemy that gets between you and your target will no longer cause the crosshair to be torn away and pulled towards the non-targeted enemy. I just believe that in PvP, Aim Assist and lag compensation work together. The higher your ping the more you would need it. If your ping was 100+ ms you couldn't kill anything without it and those of us who do not live near Kansas or N. Carolina where these servers seem to be located will have more latency and spikes/jitters that will push our ping to the 400+ range consistently. In CoD, if you live say, in Michigan, you have dedicated servers located in Iowa and Illinois. You could play around with this because your ping to these servers would be always less than 30ms.

1 ReplyOn top of that, don't forget the sticky aim. That has ruined more shots for me than I want to remember.

Seconded!

Total agreement.

Indeed.
