Hey all,
Been listening to The Satanist album by the Polish extreme metal band Behemoth and oh boy the lyrics are dark and explicit with numerous references to Hell and the Devil especially the second song Furor Divinus who's lyrics include "I -blam-ed and -blam-ed and -blam-ed the Daughters ov Zion".

How do these lyrics positively impact your life?

1 ReplyIf people can universally agree that the Devil is evil, why would you listen to that kind if stuff? Would you listen to a band that speaks of pedophilia? Or that "whites are the supreme race?" Just seems weird to me... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Want disturbing? Infant Annihilator Want satanic? Rotting Christ

I honestly don't know why so many bands of the black and death metal variety feel the need to be so edgy all the time. The main singer of behemoth is just chilling in a hoodie and -blam!-ing models whereas most others are screaming out "somebody please love me" under all their face paint.

Not TRVE KVLT enough.

I guess I should better explain what I mean, while behemoth is good and dark, they do tow the line of mainstream music( and I don't mean that as a bad thing more as they are well known) you get into bands like watain and deathspell omega and that will send you down a rabbit hole of some dark stuff. Also dark themes is subjective and go beyond the satanist shtick. To me, the experimental groove grind band dystopia: human=garbage album is super dark dealing with mental disorders, suicide, sociopolitical commentary, animal testing and the refusal of accepting the mundane of modern life. Nausea's album tech no logic kill is also dark in this respect. Totalselfhatred solitude is a very introspectively dark album as well, dealing with themes of depression and hopelessness. I can can ramble on and on, I guess what I'm saying is you are on the right path and if dark music is your thing there is much out there, some bad and some really good you just gotta find it.

There's darker. The satanist is a pretty good album though, if your into blackened death metal.
