Universe vs Darkness in DX

So i thought , d2 intro'd us into the beeing allies with the cabal / callus and his empire. Forsaken might get us into beeing allies with specific Fallen. We still don't know if vex are down with the darkness or would ally with us the guardians they can't simulate properly. F the hive , there soooooooo with the Darkness. Before i get messages like yeah but the darkness has been scrapped , no it didnt. Its been not clarified - what it is for bungie at the the time the interview was made, clearly now with the cutscene - D3 / D4 whatever it is going to be called - it's certain that they know where they are heading. Especially with concept arts backing it up what we saw at the end of the vanilla story. Just an idea of direction.

  • <You have to consider it all. How does each enemy race compare to the Deep? Golden Age humanity couldn't do jack shit against JUST the Darkness. The Fallen got their whole planet destroyed and they were more advanced! The Vex are more scared of IT than they are of us! The Darkness leads to their extinction. The Cabal will get absolutely -blam!-ed. A Primus even faced up against the Hive and lost. If they lost against the Hive, the Queen of Final Shapes will rip them apart. The Awoken stand no chance. Not even the Hive could go up against it if things went wrong. The Final Shape is when only the strongest survive. Fun fact, the Darkness returns to finish the job. The Final Shape is ONLY when IT survives. Even if the Hive win, they'll start to starve. They'll turn out of need, and the Deep will smite them. The Ascendant Realm won't protect them. We have Guardians... But we may need some luck in order to beat the Darkness.>

The Vex are nobody's allies unless it will ensure their survival. The only times we've actively aided the Vex were when they had issues that would become issues for us as well if we let it fester, otherwise they seek nothing less than the total conversion of the universe, no Light, no Darkness, just Vex. As for all the others, the Fallen are the only ones that are I'm able to feel any empathy for. The Hive are basically Daleks, the Cabal seem like Warmongers for the sake of Warmongering (I haven't done the raid, so I don't know how much of that is just Gaul), and the Vex seek a universe filled with Nothing. The Fallen, however, seem like they're only here because the Traveler's here, and are only attacking us because they think we stole the Traveler away from them (how would you feel if you learned that God was real, and then -blam!-ed off to help some other dudes while simultaneously leaving us to die?). The Fallen seem a lot like us, if our world was completely destroyed and we were cast into the void to follow the only thing that might be willing/able to help us.
