I can imagine my guardian finding Cayde’s corps and screaming: NOOOOOOOOOOOO! That will shut Nolanbot up!

52 RepliesYour character doesn't talk because your character is supposed to be you. Welcome to RPGs.... O_O
-
Remember transformers? Bumblebee hasn't ever spoken with his own voice, but when Optimus is about to kill him he suddenly finds it xD
-
1 ReplyAnd to honor Cayde's passing, our Guardian's voice will transmute into Nathan Fillion's - independent of gender or subspecies.
-
1 ReplyIt would be funny if it was our Ghost Uldren shot with Cayde's exotic Ghost Shell equipped. Leaving us Ghostless forcing our Guardian to speak. Cayde could've died in the trailer, sure. Guardians die all the time. We have a vision and we carry Cayde to the Dreaming City where we meet the Corrupted Shard of the Traveler and our powers get restored along with a brand new Super, making the Traveler our Ghost and we also become the new Speaker.

I'm remembering the speakers death in the main campaign... has any character even acknowledged that has happened yet? Also; that exo on the Moon (D1)... that dude could still be lying there! Doesn't bode well for Cayde #vexfuneralservices

Edited by KayOsS882: 6/14/2018 3:53:34 PMTry giving your guardian a destiny 2 version gally, then In the next mission story, take it away. I guarantee you your guardian will speak.

2 RepliesOur guardians will observe an eternity of silence for the loss of the cayde 6
-
4 RepliesAs a Warlock main, meh, it's just a Hunter. See what happens when you make fun of my pretty dress... Zavala is next, dirty Titan...
-
3 RepliesDoesn’t matter when Cayde-7 shows up in the next overpriced DLC for sheep to buy. Cayde was cheesy and cringy AF
-
15 RepliesThis is just an infinity wars rip-off, pure and simple Bung-hype and the fan boys and girls are falling for it
-
I can see how the cutscene will go down: Zavala: Guardian! Thank the Traveler you're alright. We - where's Cayde? *Guardian silently and without emotion stares blankly at the floor. Z: Where is he, Guardian? What happened out there? He didn't do anything reckless, did he? *Guardian continues to stare at the floor without emotion. Zavala picks up the Guardian by the neck and holds them up. Z: Guardian, where is he?! If you don't tell me right, I will personally - Ghost: Cayde's dead Zavala. *Zavala lets the Guardian go. They keel over and start messaging their neck. Hire me Bungie! I can make a scene up where our Guardian is prompted to talk multiple times, but doesn't. Does this equal brilliance in your eyes?

4 RepliesI can sell your Guardian a voice for 70 strange coins.
-
3 RepliesZavala: “Cayde’s dead, guardian.” You: “...”
-
Yes, indeed. As a some people have said, a darker and grittier Destiny needs a voiced guardian. The muted face with following over-acted expressions is just too comical for it to be taken seriously, I'm afraid. Also, as much as it pains me to say, Cayde needs to stay dead for this to have effect. Reminds me of the old "Save Carmine/Carmine must die" in Gears 3. ;-)
-
-blam!- it, Bungie can fly me out to seattle and not have to pay me shit and I'd do all of the dialogue for our guardians
-
With the current events evolving, our guardian was left "speechless"
YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHH
22 RepliesEdited by Shady: 6/12/2018 9:32:44 PMAm I the only one who’s genuinely pissed at Bungie for spoiling something as huge as Cayde’s death in a “story” trailer? I wish I could unwatch it. This is going to take away the WTF OMG HOLY SH*T reaction.

3 RepliesI miss dinklebot. I like nolan north but i think his interpretation of ghost is too childish
-
Dont worry, your ghost will do all the cringe worthy display of drama
-
The ghost is the main character anyhow not Your Guardian. If the Guardian was the main character they'd reply to their own questions directed at them. or tell the "little light" to shut it's robo-hole. They could make the silent protagonist work if they had I don't know a good writing team and mocap department.

I like to think my Sunbreaker has an Irish accent.

2 RepliesNot even Cayde's death could convince me to purchase CoO and Warmind, so I can play Forsaken.

1 ReplyOne of the initial complaints I have seen with Destiny 2 is that in the cutscenes and general story our Guardians do not have their usual voice that was established in the first Destiny. Instead we find our ghost speaking for us in every cutscene and over-radio interaction. It is understandable why players are upset about this because it feels like we play no part in the story. However, giving your character back their voice is not going to fix that problem. Look back at Destiny 1 and you'll see that despite having a voice your character does not have any impact on the story, you have no real interaction. It's all people talking at you rather than with you. You'll often find that having dialogue options with other NPCs without a voiced player character can often have more immersive effect for the player. Your voice and essentially personality is up to your imagination rather than it being predetermined for you. Giving the player a system of dialogue that has various options is more powerful than being actually voiced in the game. You can see this effect between previous Bethesda games like Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim in comparison to Fallout 4. Many people were not a fan of a voiced protagonist because they felt as if they were being pushed into playing a specific character that was determined for them rather than one of their creation. The truth is that when it comes to creating a character, imagination is more powerful than what the game can offer. Now having different voices for sounds your character makes when jumping, getting hit, or performing an Emote is fine. Personally I would rather have no voice, let it be in my head when role-playing my character, rather than my EXO male sounding like all the other EXO guys. (Cause we know voice actors cost money so the probability that they are going to hire multiple actors to choose from, for both genders each, for one race is not going to work.) AND I would be more invested in the story as well as the world if I had the option to interact and talk with the various characters that inhabit it. But what do you guys think?
-
It should happen but I doubt it will, Nothing kills immersion like being asked a question and jump standing there making cringe arm movements or looking at ghost.
-
2 RepliesPah, they have not said it themselves, they choose to seemingly let actions speak loader than words. Truth is I bet he isn't dead.
-
Whats mad is people talked about his death before the games launch, and there were lots of people going apeshit saying that if they killed of Cayde they'd leave.... Obv the fact people left cos the game was total helmet threw people off the topic until now.
