Some people seem to think that the newly revealed Scorn are a new enemy type. Just so you don’t get confused: They are not.
They are Fallen of course! It should be obvious because they too have four arms, four eyes, and teeth similar to the skulls of Fallen that can be found in the EDZ. They wear different or less armor then regular Fallen, that makes them seem unfamiliar. They are just a new faction within the Fallen.
Hope I cleared some things up.
And just so that people don’t get this wrong: I have absolutely no problem with the the Scorn and them being Fallen and not “new” enemies.
Edit: Ok, so I do know the difference between new enemies and a new enemy race, but past experiences on these forums (one of my posts before Warmind for example) have shown me that many people do not. And I don’t think they are reskins or stuff like that. Maybe I could have been a little more clear in my wording. Of course they are new enemies. As I said, they can be confused for something else. Just wanted to clear things up. This post was not meant as an argument on whats a news enemy and what not. Just a friendly reminder for people to get the facts straight.

8 RepliesMachamp has four arms but he ain't a fallen
-
Yes this is true. I know youre not complaining but a lot of people do, which makes no sense to me. 99% of sequels dont add new enemy types. Why is it only bad when Bungie does it?
-
The scorn use Harrow's incense thing for some reason XD
-
They look badass and that's all that matters 👌
-
Generally speaking they've got the basic enemy types covered that most games use. We have scavenger type in fallen, robots in vex, organic alien type in hive and possessed type in the taken. It's probably not that easy to find a fresh concept, make some suggestions.....
-
3 RepliesYes, but there is a difference to how they operate. The fallen have simple and predictable tactics. According to the Bungie Vid, these Fallen play more aggressively, and are constantly in your face. Enforcing the idea that these aren’t regular fallen. I’d say these fallen have also been enhanced in some way. Two of the fallen seen in the video show unique psionic powers, which last I knew, the fallen were incapable of. One of teleportation, and the other making himself incredibly larger. It could be a case of where they are biologically fallen, but metaphysically and psychologically they are extremely different. In almost every way

1 ReplyThey're definitely a new enemy type(s) judging from how their AI functioned in the teaser, let alone their looks. They're just from the same race.
-
Yup. But at least they seem to be more different than freezer burnt hive.
-
So fallen with a new look, got it
-
4 RepliesThey are a new type of enemy. We've never fought Lantern swinging Fallen before.
-
They look different because they all come from different backgrounds and such
-
3 RepliesI'm just waiting for them to introduce the illuminati that we saw at the end of the vanilla game.
-
1 ReplyWell if they are fallen then some of them have been seriously abusing the roids while in prison. Good god some of them new guys are jacked lol
-
11 RepliesThey ARE a new enemy type. They are not a new enemy race. It's OK if you don't know the difference. But since you want to try to be condescending please AT LEAST make sure you're right.
-
True, however they are a new enemy type. I think that’s what makes them exciting.

Your post echoes what people said about the Taken in D1. "Oh, they are just reskinned enemies from the whole game, they are not new." Yet the Taken (and now The Scorn) have their own animations, AI patterns and abilities. Just like the Taken, The Scorn are a new enemy faction and have the obvious signs to prove that. It's more bad guys to shoot. Stop complaining. "Aww, but I wanted a new enemy RACE, not thiiiiis!" I will take an expansion of the variety that the current races come in over a new enemy race any day. More variety builds on the mythos of each race, defining them in more detail than just merely being of a single archetype.

3 Repliesso we get to learn more about the Eliksni yesssss? I wish to know more so that peace can be made. Scorn seem to be hated by many possibly, even House Dusk, killing them could be seen as a favor to house Dusk
the return of Variks seems soon yeesssssss?
-
Well they aren't technically a new enemy race but the Scorn seem like they act and play differently then our old school Fallen. It's like the Red Legion and the Cabal.

Edited by Sausage: 6/5/2018 11:53:39 PMTechnically speaking, they are still new enemies, just not a new race. Difference between new enemy and new enemy race. Lots of stuff about these baddies is new 👌
