Define "Sweaty Tryhard"
I've been referring to people who crouch around corners, button mash the meta weapons, and rely on things like the Colony and Sins of the Past as "sweaty tryhards". This is something I picked up from my friends that I play the game with, and I just wanted to take a peek at what others might think.
What do you define as a "sweaty" or a "tryhard"?

Anyone who refuses to engage in 1v1 firefights. 15 pts Runs a loadout of 100% meta weapons all the time. 15 pts Their natural evironment is at the rear of a 4 man fireteam formation, or running around invis with quickfang and are often found on the forums whining that tether takes to long to shutdown supers. 25 pts Will always teabag you after shooting you from behind with the colony. 75 pts If his k/d goes down he will rage quit even if his team is winning. 50 pts Camps heavy ammo all match long. 20 pts Knows all the positions to spawn lock the opposing team. 35 pts Has never taken B in his life, and never will, but he will absolutely shoot at it from afar with graviton/v-wing to boost k/d at the cost of the game. 75 pts Uses a lag switch. 9,000 pts Uses a modded controller(elites/scufs do not count) 75 pts Has ever said "get good" or "scrub" non sarcastically. 30 pts Sends platform message hatemail after losing a match. 75 pts Hope this clears it up for you.

When you have a .7 trials kd but a 1.5+ in quickplay yout probably a sweaty try hard.

Edited by StrongSide: 6/8/2018 5:15:21 PMI think sweaty and try hard are 2 different things. a sweaty is a highly skilled player usually running with stacked squad and actually enjoys competition from other skilled player. And a try hard is some one who all ways uses the meta and usually very passive and never challenges first. Could be playing with sweaty players but most likely being carried and disliked by the higher skilled sweaty player for playing too slow and not making plays

1 ReplyEdited by Mar: 6/7/2018 7:43:28 AMI have always defined a "try hard" as someone who goes so far beyond simply trying to play the game well that they actively start sucking the fun out of everything when you play with or against them. Good examples of this are people who do raids and are so obsessed with being "perfect" they will kick people for missing a jump, or freak out and start screaming and pitching a fit because of 1 wipe. Another example is someone who in PvP sticks to the meta so much that they actively refuse to play any other way to the extent that unless they are using the meta they cannot play at all and blame everyone else around them for their short comings. A "sweaty try hard" would just be someone who puts an even more ludicrous amount of effort into being one. Generally speaking they also typically have EXTREMELY poor sportsman ship and are sore losers and poor winners, and usually are very arrogant, loud, obnoxious, petty, or all of the above. A good way to spot on is when someone starts trash talking out the gate only to get destroyed by the enemy team and is at the bottom of the score board yet t bags every kill they get and then blames the lose on everyone else. Or on the PvE side, when 1 person lags for a second or makes a small mistake and they start screaming at everyone to "git gud" or various other stupid things. Or when a group of 4 - 6 rolls into a PvP match with full meta load outs and steam rolls everyone to the point the other team can't even play and then proceeds to start bragging and insulting everyone (the last part is a must, as is the full "meta" or "OP" load out. if a team is just good that doesn't qualify them for try hard status). Whats worse is the ones who actually have an ounce of skill and do decent, because then they lord it over everyone every second they can like its the greatest thing in the world. At least thats my 2 cent. I could be alone with that thinking / definition.

I always imagine sweaty try-hards as overweight teenagers, eating Cheetos and drinking Mountain Dew... I’d imagine they don’t get out much either and most likely found in the basement...

Runs only the top meta weapons crouches and hides with teammates never engaged on his or her own unless they have a super or power ammo or if they see someone already weak.

2 RepliesMy buddy is a sweaty try hard. He literally sweats the second he plays anything competitive. He tries really hard to win. By the very definition. He is in fact both sweaty and trying hard.

Sweaty Try hards.... anyone who tries their best to be the cheesiest player. Being afraid to go head to head. using colony, etc. Using their super in a panic when it's 1 on 1. and the list goes on.

for me, there is 3 ways 1. tryhards are using meta weapons with a full-fireteam and they never capture B to stay back with his antiope-d / G-lance 2. the sweaty that use non-meta loadouts like 900 Smg with Hand Cannon with a sniper 3. the sweaty that is over the average people but isn't a a**hole, which are truly fun to play with. this category dosn't always use meta weapons, like the 2nd guy i mentionned.
