Curious for feedback here on what you all think, let me know in comments.
Let's assume that the pyramid ships we saw at the end of vanilla D are in fact the darkness finally coming for us. Last time it did that, the collapse happened, which almost wiped us out. Hell we got very lucky to not be extinct. Well what if we won't get so lucky the next time, not without a lot of help. So far I've noticed an underlying theme running through all of D2 including the DLCs:
We're gathering support for a massive fight. Think about it. In the raids we are amusing Calus and potentially making him in a loose ally, we got Osiris on our side who can walk through time, and now we woke up Rasputin who pledges to defends humanity. I can conceivably see us pairing up with the Fallen too via Uldren once he resurfaces or somehow via Mara Sov. All of this will come to a head at the start of D3 when the darkness makes its move.

5 Replies<I see a Mass Effect 3 scenario where we have to abandon the inner system in order to get help. Get Efrideet's space hippies. Get the Awoken. Get the Fallen. Get Calus who can potentially lead the WHOLE EMPIRE. Gather our remaining forces. Big ass space battle, final raid on the mothership. Bada-bing bada-boom exterminate the Hive, save the Vex.>

2 Repliesi gave up on bungies ability to create a good story/content. d3 will be d2 vanilla with features mysterious missing, lazy content, and the same ship in space loading screen and character creation. bungie will perfect the art of slacking

1 ReplyWhoa... slow down cowboy. We barely even have a second game!

4 RepliesEdited by IMADAJ: 6/1/2018 6:17:39 AMThe real question is what excuse do they use to get rid of or gear THIS time?
-
1 ReplyI completely agree. We are building allies right now. D3 will open with an attack and we will lose our stuff again.

Every guardian will get infected with a vex virus and grow exo like boobs. No, really, that was their plan

The 'Darkness' will arrive and it will conveniently corrupt all the existing alien races so that all the enemies we fight are just emo versions of recycled mobs. Then Bungie will employ the predictable plot twist that the Traveler was evil the entire time and then they will cram in some attempt to be "deep and meaningful" by having our ghosts/guardians sacrifice themselves to stop it and then relate that to the word "Destiny" somehow. I'll take my paycheck now.

Yeah I feel that’s the direction the story is taking cause Calus knows something is coming and wants to train us and prove our worth, Osiris has control of the Infinite Forest so he can run simulations of possible futures when we are attacked and Uldren possibly has control of the Kings so if we may have them as an ally sometime soon, we are never going to have the Hive as allies cause they are servants of the Darkness, the vex are a possibility, a very small one but still they don’t want to be destroyed and currently we guardians are the best option to defeat the darkness and if we all die then everything else will soon follow. In D3 or maybe in a D2 DLC maybe in yr 3 I’d like to see the Leviathan with a small Cabal fleet, Fallen Ketches with some Reef ships and every guardians ship we can get our hands on fighting to the death against the darkness in a cool TTK style cut scene that possibly leads to us having dogfights on the edge of the solar system

1 ReplyEdited by PhantomMirage115: 6/1/2018 1:09:20 AMThe Nine will be involved, they'll probably help us. Currently we are competing in the Trials of the Nine, preparation for something more. The Trials of Osiris also did the same thing, and we got to aid Osiris our selves after his trials. The lore for the Emissary also has a lot on the Nine and potential upcoming plot, then if you gain all 3 keys (flawless) she'll tell you to seek the Nine out when the time is right, that'll be D3 when the Darkness attacks.

4 RepliesOsiris doesn’t walk through time. He sits in a spiffy computer network that simulates different timelines.

1 ReplyIn Destiny 3 i want ALL new enemies. Got sick of all same enemies for 4 years.
-
WE DONT NEED DESTINY 3, THIS IS HOW WE GOT IN THIS MESS IN THE FIRST TIME, DESTINY DIDNT NEED A SEQUEL, JUST A BIG EXPANSION IN SEPTEMBER.
-
Yep, kinda seems like that’s what’s happening. This brings the potential for some awesome battles and interactions. But I really can’t imagine how they would work this into the gameplay. Btw, this the only thing that is stopping me from totally believing in an alliance with Calus. It seems so obvious but also hard to pull off.

D3? PFFFFF!!! That's a funny joke.

2 Repliesd3, bruuuh bungie didnt deliver.. 10 year plan down the drain... back to pumpin out game after game for those easyyyy bucks.. why do you think this game is being dumbed down. i bet, d3 is going to be even worse.

3 RepliesDestiny 3: the taken piss. Destiny 3: the taken wallet. Destiny 3: the taken biscuit. Destiny 3: on the take. Destiny 3: this time we REALLY couldn’t be arsed. I’m sure there’s more. You get the idea.

For D3, am expecting Infinaty War level story-telling and a TON of characters.
-
Hoping Zavalas old school arse stays out of it...

The Tower gets blown up and we grind to get everything back we lost from Destiny 2 and Destiny 1. It should take you about 6 hours including the two following DLC's. =)

1 ReplyIn the original Destiny launch trailer there was a scene where Uldren pulls a gun on our guardian and demands to know who we are. If this scene pops up in future content when we find him I’m going to be soooooooo damn pissed
-
1 ReplyI kind of wish on destiny 3 if Vex can talk.

Here is my theory regarding the substance of D3's plot...
