Change invisibility back

Before reading any farther, haters please withhold. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's thought this, but the nerf applied to the nightstalker invisibility a while back was uncalled for. To specify, I am talking about how it functioned by dropping aim assist. Before the nerf, it taken skill to detect and eliminate a cloaked hunter in the heat of combat. Now however, invisibility serves no function. Having been on both sides of this I can say that it can be annoying for all involved. As a hunter, invisibility will not confuse or hide you from the swarm's projectiles, will not prevent hakke rocket launchers from achieving lock on, will not prevent graviton lance's void projectiles from tracking you, won't help you stay away from axiom bolt, and worst of all won't even help you against anybody who knows how to press the ADS button... I honestly can't even begin to count how many times I've taken aim at another target and ended up locking onto a hunter I shouldn't have known was there in the process. There just shouldn't be aim assist on targets we shouldn't know are there as it kind of ruins the whole cloaking thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm aware of how potent it used to be. But now it's essentially useless.

Yeah, I pretty much never see an invisible Hunter anymore. The only time I ever do is when I come across someone who just started using Hunter and thinks invisibility actually makes them invisible. Hell, I pretty much never see Nightstalkers anymore or a Gunslingers for that matter. Not seeing Gunslingers that much kinda makes me sad since I was a gunslinger main in D1. Gunslinger just isn’t the same anymore.

    • It would be way too OP if grenades didn’t hit, rocket launchers didn’t track, and your weapons couldn’t lock on while invisible. If you combined that sort of invisibility with the wormhusk crown it would create even more problems and outrage in the PvP community. Let’s be honest, an ability like that sounds fantastic only when it benefits you as an individual. If that were to be used against me I’d probably rage so hard and want to throw my Xbox out the window. I think a more realistic improvement would be to just make you ‘more’ invisible. This could include the following; longer time to track on Hakke tracking launchers, higher transparency of your character, and a smaller hit box on your characters head so that it’s more difficult for the enemy to land multiple Crit shots in a row. This is just an attempt at looking at the situation as unbiasedly as I can. Thanks, -Kakahshe

    • I main a warlock have done for the past 4 years but I agree while I think invisibility was too strong and needed to be toned down I think they went to far. In my opinion it should still break tracking of weapons and grenades and also break aim assist. However it should definitely still be able to be locked back onto after the initial invisibility has been activated.

Invisibility is more used to manipulate the radar. And that it does very very well. Especially if you use the top tree and go invisible every time you dodge. An invisible hunter with a sword or shotgun is a deadly combo. Or even any weapon for that matter (i rush with Last Hope invisible all the time). Completely useless in competitive though. Might even be part of the reason there is no radar in comp. Even more people would just use Void Hunter.

      • Yeah no so hunters can go back to abusing it again. I don't think so.

      • Yeah, I think it can be a good idea; if it does end up being "overpowered" or used more than wanted, I think instead of removing it like they did before, Bungie can shorten the time invisibility is withheld, so players have to be smart about flanking or surprising enemy attackers, other than just running around a giant area and picking them off while invisibility regenerates (note: if smoke doesn't regenerate while invisible, i am sorry for my lack of knowledge)
