It’s like comparing apples to oranges. They are two distinctly different abilities that have their own strengths and weaknesses.
Rift:
Pros:
- Gives an overshield
- Heals through damage
- Works for allies
Cons:
- Long animation
- Long cooldown
So Rift is essentially a zoning tool to be used preemptively before a battle, and to secure an objective.
Wormhusk Crown:
Pros:
- Can be used to escape and regenerate from a losing gunfight
- Short cooldown
- Quick activation
Cons:
- Regeneration stops if damage is taken
- Requires your exotic slot
This exotic is meant to escape from a battle and quickly recover before reengaging or going somewhere else. Not meant to be used before the engagement.
As is obvious, Rift excells in areas where Wormhusk Crown doesn’t, while Wormhusk is able to be used in ways that Rift can’t be. Although similar, they aren’t able to be compared and contrasted because they simply don’t do the same thing.
Hunters can’t go say “Warlocks can instantly heal mid-gunfight too.” Warlocks can’t go say “Dodging with Wormhusk is better than Rift in every way.” Neither of those are true.
