It's starting to get toxic and irritating: people rushing through the strike, barely killing anything, just to collect loot at the end. It's a shooter game and people are barely shooting at things. The one saving grace of Destiny is the great shooting mechanics yet people would rather race through strikes. I would like to flag and block these people so that I'm not matched with them in matchmaking playlists. I also don't want to be penalized if I choose to leave a team of rushers and find a new fire team that actually wants to play the game properly. Bungie, could you please add "flagging" for "Strike Rushing"?

the anoying part is that when ppl start to speedrun everything is that when they get far enough theyll depsawn ever enemy you are trying to kill
-
thats why sometimes i change my clock to 5 am no one joins to my strike like that i love strikes and i cant enjoy them with those fellas thats why im using my ps4 to rebuy the first game
-
I love when it’s just two of us and the dude is a rusher, i wait until vital no respawn point wait for him to get killed and I’ll head back to orbit

It's starting to get toxic
When did Toxic become synonymous with annoying. EP is making the community toxic Eververse is toxic Graviton Lance is toxic Hunters are toxic Taco Bell is toxic, ok that one can be true. There is nothing toxic about people rushing through strikes. There is no extra reward besides throw away loot and now possibly a catalyst. Because someone wants to play the game in a way that annoys you is not toxic. Hell for them they have X amount of time to do X amount of stuff and you're dragging your feet is annoying as hell.
wants to play the game properly
Hell one could say that is elitism, the only proper way to play the game is my way. Everyone else is having wrongfun. And don't say that it is the way Bungie planned it. If that was true then every section of a strike would have a lock out that would only be opened once you kill everything in each section.

1 ReplyI’m not rushing to get to the boss, I’m rushing to get away from you!

Just another reason to uninstall. I'm trying to shoot shit, not speedrun Doom 1 on Nightmare. And when you realize that the other two members of your "fireteam" are four Forest segments ahead of you, refuse to slow down, and won't help you come add clear to catch up with them, you're better off letting those -blam!-s try to duo it.

4 RepliesNo, make your own group if you want to sit in a strike for the hour, otherwise you get what you get, people aren't interested in taking longer then 20 mins per strike, they want to be in and out and on to the next milestone

5 RepliesPfft. Most of the times I get the rushers, they tend to ignore the burns. As such, I'll calmly walk (yes, walk!) through the Strike killing things and when I see that sweet little notification, Guardian down, I smile to myself and...keep walking. Maybe I'll pop an emote if I suspect the idiot is now spectating me. But if the moron is gonna run off on his own, he sure as shit won't be getting a rez from me hehe. I get that some players wanna grind out their required strikes for whatever reason, but I won't let some blueberry ruin an experience for me. Come boss time, yes, I'll rez your sorry sack and support you properly during said fight. But if you're gonna be an annoyance, prepare to be annoyed 😁

1 ReplyCompletly agree. The only good thing Destiny has right now is the shooting mechanics and if you don't shoot it gets lame.
-
I just laugh at the people that rush ahead and die over and over. If you've been playing for a while, you should be able to quickly and efficiently kill everything you come across. Use your Power weapons and use your Supers to kill large groups easily. Strikes shouldn't take longer than 10-15 minutes if you and your team actually use your heads. Unfortunately, most people don't. A lot of people seem to like staring at their Ghost after they stupidly tried to run through a room full of enemies when Glass or Blackout is active.

IDK about "getting," it's always been annoying. Killing random mobs randomly generates legendary engrams which randomly reward masterwork cores. And since I have nearly everything but a surplus of masterwork cores, I can agree with the sentiment.

4 RepliesKids like you take 40 + mins to finish a heroic...

1 Replyuse LFG.

So you’d like to take your time and kill things but the others run off - but rather than accept this and play the strike with them in this manner (2 vs 1) they should alter and play how you want to play? The irony. Everyone plays in different ways, for different reasons and for different objectives. Play how you want, take your time if you like but if your not sticking with your temporary team mates and die do not complain - adapt. Not every strike will be run that way, so the next one could well be more your play style. What creates toxicity, is having a go because people aren’t playing in a particular manner but remember we can all change - not just ‘them’

This is not a simple complaint. I doubt there are many “rushers” when they reach the “no respawn” zone of the strike. Where you probably see a majority of the rush is through the respawn zones where there is trash mobs that you know, respawn, why fight through this? D1 had many strikes that took you right through public space, D2 is not as bad but there are a few that have this too. Bet your ass I am skipping through those and pulling others with me if they elect to sit back and kill respawn enemies.

5 RepliesWhile I won’t disagree it would be fine to be able to flag players you don’t want to see again, you’re chasing the wind. Catalysts are RNG drops in strikes for completing. I 100% guarantee you people will continue to rush. As for the idea rushers always die, you guys must play with different players than do I. I can’t keep up with some of the guys in my clan, and rooms are largely cleared before I get to them. I am literally running as fast as my toon can go. As for myself, I will do what the team does, but if I’m farming, the more strikes done, the more chances for drops. The math can’t be disputed. Finally, there is no “wrong way” to play them. A dead boss is all that matters.
-
I run through any parts that I can because why would I want to sit and fight bullet sponge enemies when I don't have to?
-
Some people get fun out of seeing how fast they can do things, you’re toxic for slowing them down.
-
The exact same could be said about you, by someone that wants to finish the strike as quickly as possible. You are hindering their progress by killing everything.
-
1 ReplyNot the solution. Add Heroic Strike Scoring, the D1 version back in, and make the Strikes not shite.
-
Who wants to waste time doing a meh strike you’ve already done hundreds of times before? I know I do!
-
Strike rushing occurs because no one wants to spend 90 minutes doing three heroic strikes when none of the gear helps your light, except for the milestone at the end. I kill what I have to kill, but if I can avoid the nonsense (ex. Infinite Forest) to get a strike finished I will.
-
Yes it can be annoying but someone has to mop up and do the revving. There should be a special reward or emblem for been the last standing Guardian. I also find it funny when you get wacked by them for not keeping up! Have fun, everyone to their own way of playing.
-
Because the strikes are so boring we all want to run through it and get it Over with 😂
-
"Wah, play the game the way I want you to or not at all, wah!"
-
All looter shooters are this way.
