Weak Story writing as always.

Bungie what are you doing. In Destiny 1 we had some decent story lines (Personally I enjoyed House of Wolves, TTK and bits and pieces of Rise of Iron) now you give us one of the worst DLCs (Osiris) and a little less weak of a DLC (Warmind) Let’s start out with Osiris It shouldn’t exist in this way. You built up Osiris to be this awesome Warlock who was exiled for his massive knowledge and people thought he was crazily obsessed with the Vex. You had a LOT of things you could’ve done to him and the entire planet of Mercury. Instead we get a weak excuse for a “DLC” that was locked behind a pay wall. It was a total disgrace to the Destiny title. (To sum it up it was boring, cheaply done, annoying, and had no endgame, the area was lacking, and what’s with recycling missions as a strike! D1 we had unique strikes and almost none of them were buffed up story missions. Now for warmind. A small bit better with some quests. Most of the same problems about being short and replaying the stupid story missions (WE DONT WANT THAT!) but the quests for the weapons and the area of Mars I think was done well. The Escalation Protocols were done well, a bit tough, but fun. Public events are nice, the Data holograms and Sleeper nodes definitely gave me a lot to do. To sum all of this up destiny, you’re lazy. Osiris DLC shouldn’t even have been a DLC and Warmind shouldn’t have been $30. STOP REPLAYING STORY MISSIONS AS DAMN STRIKES! That is extremely lazy. We like the toughness of the strikes. We like the quests. We DONT LIKE these lazy, annoying, replayed strikes.

  • They have done this in d1. Omnigul, and that taken moon strike were part of quests in the story. Same as roi strikes. It felt less lazy then though. To quote one of d2s best strikes “Real talk, i dont know how much more i can handle.” If d2 makes you feel this way then dont preorder the fall dlc.

  • Your first statement is false. The story writing in d1 was trash as well.

    • I thought the story was much better when it was darker, its too much like Crash Bandicoot now at times, and I really want it to be more like the original Deus Ex...

Ok let's me stop you at your first sentence d1 had a good story line are you mad sorry the d1 story looks like a stemming pile of crap compared to d2 story and the only good story line of d1 was TTK and the books of sorrow. And I agree with the rest of your statement apart from warmind being £30 it's actually £28.99for the season pass that's about £14.50 a dlc

      • In a DLC that responds to D2 being too casual friendly, the most casual activity out there has the same narrative quality as every other DLC before it. I don’t know where you get this magical great writing from HoW, I just remember two characters- Petra vinge and Variks being randomly dropped in the story and spouting exposition as we load into the mission. Development and all the important stuff left to grimiore cards.

        • Agreed, there is no depth to the characters and everything isn't a followup from where we left of last expansion,it's just all over the place making no sense what so ever.

        • I agree. My buddy and I ran through Warmind with our 2nd characters. The story makes no sense. I was excited for my first run through mainly because of killing things. When you get down to the story with the Warmind, Rasputin and Zavala, it makes no damn sense. Maybe some of you "get it", but we sure didn't. Blow up the explosives, put down some explosives, find the key, hold off the waves. I mean seriously, what the hell are we doing when we play the Warmind missions besides killing stuff. That's all well and good but at some point we need an engaging story to round it all out and keep us coming back.

        • Well the main influences of the writing team for bungie have been gone for a while. Joe Staten obviously, but another is CJ Cowen. He left in April 2016. He is known for work on Halo and particularly The Taken King and House of Wolves. So yeah, and bonus points for Bungie hiring the writer for Halo 4 and Mass Effect Andromeda. You know those were great stories if you read anything on the internet.

        • 1. Warmind wasn't $30. It was $20, or $18 if you bought the pass. 2. Warmind's story missions weren't too bad, what there was of them. Only downside was that Xol was a villain with a serious cool factor. They should have found a way to stick him aboard Leviathan as a raid boss... I could imagine some bad-A mechanics involving killing an invading worm deity down in Leviathan's bowels. 3. I think I heard somewhere that "Rise of Iron" was supposed to be Destiny 2's opening DLC, which is why it blocked out legacy consoles. That would explain why Osiris struggled the way it did; it was a last-ditch replacement. In any case, as an occasional meditation source, "Curse" holds its own. The raid lair is a great little bit of team-oriented fun. And in any case, its worst issues were issues with D2 itself. 4. One thing that CoO did far and away better than any other Destiny bit was it highlighted the way a Ghost and a Guardian should relate to each other. Zavala and Ikora's Ghosts are voiceless. Your Ghost is an uptight chattery Ferra to your silent and violent Tor. But Osiris and Sagira are two separate personalities: they have disagreements, personality traits that complement each other. It's fun listening to them talk to each other on strikes.
