I get losing points after a loss, but there should not be a losing streak if shit like this exists in the game still.
-
There shouldn't be a competitive PVP in the first with a system that is like 20 years old, ptp, 4v4, lags, ... Feels like my first online gameplay back in the 1990s with a 56k modem and even that was a better experience than i had with D2 PVP in general. I would like to know who on earth the genious at Bunige was that came up with that idea and all those muppets behind him not being able to simply say: That won't work!
-
I agree the losing streak should go. That and if you're a really subpar player pls don't solo que into competitive. I don't mind facing teams of four but when you got like two players who shoot like Michael j fox, it's near impossible to win.
-
Working as intended.
-
2 RepliesWow thats really shitty. Especially that second vid. 2 mins in you finally got a match and it ended in 2 seconds :/
-
11 RepliesThere should not be a penalty period if you are even one player short. You should have an option to leave and keep your streak in this situation. I have had this a few times and it's unfair as it stands.
-
4 RepliesYou don't need a reason. Everyone knows it's a classless move on Bungie's part. Top four scorers in every match should rank up, period, regardless of win/loss. Stop the carries.
-
4 RepliesI love Destiny pvp but screw this competitive crap. No radar isn’t fun, losing points isn’t fun. Just a ridiculous couple of decisions by Bungie.
-
6 RepliesPlus no radar is the most lol thing ever. Like really bungie? No radar in a game where you can look around corners via using emotes? How dumb are you guys?
-
1 ReplyOk a few things: -Props to you for the video evidence on how -blam!-ed up comp is with this new system added. Video is worth a million words. -hats off to you and that other guy who 2v4 and stayed and tried to hold your own. -by definition, I am a gg scrub....no other way to put it. Don't look at stats, I'm telling you all, after watching this video I should touch pvp anymore in any game ever (I'm over exaggerating). You guys STAYED...2v4 in comp. Up against a full clan and those assholes didn't let up. Sweat the whole time? No love, no mercy from them. You guys have traveler sized balls. I just cant..👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Bungie has to Know those two links are huge problems that need to be addressed asap.
-
1 ReplyIt’s also silly because ranked doesn’t go off your rank, but rather SBMM. So, instead of that losing streak getting you out of tiers you don’t belong in, it’s instead just a shitty mechanic
-
Doesn't Overwatch have the feature where it cancels the match if someone quits? It seems like Blizzard has figured it out.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Truthiness_Inc: 5/28/2018 7:08:58 AMLosing points for any reason is dumb. The punishment for losing is clearly not advancing. This whole deranking because of trash connections or bad matchmaking or bad teammates is killing comp list. I managed to get to brave, then lost 3 in a row and disconnected one. Now I hae over 200 points to get back to where I was yesterday. -blam!- comp, I'm done with it.
-
2 RepliesHey Bungo, you there? Or are you just listening? This guy has a good point. Like a good one. You should, like, take it on board and stuff. What? It’s working as intended? You know your game best cause you made Halo? Halo worked so everything is ok?
its like talking to a brick wall man
-
2 RepliesThey made loss streaks in a game that doesn't have dedicated servers and is 30fps on all consoles. Lul.
-
7 RepliesSorry guy's but here's the real news, BUNGIE only listen to streamers and YouTubers and they love this sweaty PvP because they all make money.
-
9 RepliesIndividual rank should reflect individual skill, and thus, should be graded based on individual skill. Far too many times have I entered a match, just to get a win/loss screen, or just as the match is about to get mercy'd (or at the least should've been mercy'd). Far too many times have I gone into a match just to lose because I got to watch my team play clash in control, or completely ignore the crests in supremacy. I've seen much better players than myself lose matches but have the highest score in the game because, despite their attempts to capture and hold points, their teammates insisted on trying for the power play every time, or wanted to play hero and kept giving the other team free points by run off to solo and die. I've won matches that I'll admit, my team should not have won simply because the other team had players get kicked/leave and they still held their ground despite being outnumbered. We would not have won if our opponents had a full team. I've seen games where my team lost because, within the last few minutes of the game, we had players leave/get booted and that turned the tide of the match despite our reasonable lead prior to the dc's. Right now, the ranking systems don't grade you based on individual skill, and therefore, I do not give any credence to a player's glory or valor rank. They are just another one of Bungie's ploys in an attempt to lure players into the grind and keep them grinding until September. An arbitrary number to chase which does nothing to benefit you and shows nothing of your skill/efforts as an individual.

13 RepliesEdited by SirHugzAlot: 5/27/2018 3:22:47 AMBungie (in its current state) really dont know how to make a game. They dont know how to do PVP right They dont know how to do XP / Light level right They dont know how to do RPG right They dont know how to do do microtransactions right (opting for predatory schemes) The ONLY thing they know how to do is a pre-launch marketing campaign... thats it.

9 RepliesI've played solo up to over 1,050 Glory points and it's been a freaking slog, but my thoughts on losing streaks are that they shouldn't exist at all in this game. Losing streaks very negatively impact solo, average, and slightly above average (of which I consider myself) players. They don't impact the stacked streamer teams, cuz they never lose (the first guys to get the Claymore had an 86 win streak...how -blam!-ing ridiculous). All it does is wipe out hours of sweaty gameplay for the regular players out there. I've lost 13 of my last 15 comp games, which equates to a loss of 210 points, which equates to 3-4 hours of gameplay. This is far beyond un-fun, it's borderline sadistic and not at all what a video game should represent. I've tried teaming up, but if you have even 1 player on your team that has a significantly better kd than you (0.5 or higher) you will get matched up against randoms that all have that higher kd and you will get absolutely rekt. Solo queing is only slightly better in that the new FTMM sometimes evens the odds against 3 or 4 stacks, but you still have to contend with quitters, very low skill teammates, random disconnects, etc. It's just plain and simple a pretty MISERABLE experience right now, and I know I don't need to do it, but I wanted to challenge myself and get better, but having done that over the course of probably 200 comp games, I've come to realize that individual skill doesn't really matter, it's all up to luck of being match made with better or worse players.

2 RepliesWhat the....its competitive. It’s meant to be like that. You have to work for it. Wow. Some people.
-
Bump cuz I dont think my soul can take another five loss streak point loss... For info: got placed against 4 man teams 4 times in a row. Its just kind of disheartening.
-
Because Bungie is stupid
-
competitive is stupid.
-
3 RepliesBungie have done that on purpose so they can matchmake teams with winning streaks against teams with losing streaks. That's why you have the same teams winning trials of the nine each week and they can get paid to carry people. Because they don't matchmake teams with winning streaks against other teams with winning streaks.
-
The most important thing I think that needs to be changed is how the actual point system works. I can fight the best players playing at the time, or the absolute trash of the week and either way I get the same amount of points. Is that a joke? Are you seriously willing to tell me that someone that’s on their 5th game of crucible on their account is worth the same 20ish points as the 9000 ping Ukrainian Glory lord who lurks in his basement? There’s no logic to it, and frankly I think it just help to completely ruin any chance that mode even had.

8 RepliesIf you think you don’t have a voice , you do. Look at Solo. A lot of hate is aimed at the new depiction of Star Wars and consumers are turning their backs at the box office . It’s a 4 day weekend and they don’t think it will break the 110-115 million mark when it was depicted to hit between 165-175 million . If the fall off is worse next weekend , they will have to make a few changes to correct course. This concept applies to all consumer goods including Destiny . I know it’s easy to blow it off because it is only a 59.99 purchase and a video game to boot . But if you are actually invested in this game or want it to actually evolve with the player base your going to push back a little by not purchasing future expansions. Or you can simply spend 20.00 or 30.00 dollars at a time and attempt to see if your aggravation can equal that dollar amount . Just because it is playable does not mean the consumer got a fair shake on the deal. I once had a fish tank when I was younger that was completely covered in Algae. The fish were still swimming and the pumps were working but it was nowhere as enjoyable as a smooth running tank where you could identify the fish you have . Hell I couldn’t even see my deep sea diver opening his chest anymore. Eventually I cleaned it out . That’s where I am at with this game now. I didn’t buy the expansion because it is the only way to began to force change or not pay to be aggravated . You can do that for free with Work and life if need be. Food for thought . Enjoy.
