Most all of them are mediocre, plain bad, or are just abysmally boring.
Somebody's gotta make a really good game like Destiny, just not nearly as bad.I don't even care what it all entails, I just want a game where I can shoot crap, and spend days and nights doing stuff with friends and grinding for some incredible items. A game where I can go to bed at 3 am and not feel like It was wasted.
How hard is it? Every game in this genre has been either terrible, or taken years to become even mediocre. It makes me mad, because Destiny and the Division, are all brilliant ideas in theory! But they've all been executed so poorly.
Somebody's gotta figure out how to do this.

When was the last time you played the Division? It's a ton of fun right now.

It has been done. Borderlands 2 was fantastic. The Divsion has really turned the corner and become a good game.

You really don't burn through that game easily and I feel like that's a lot of the problem that destiny and that sort suffer from. Which means I'm basically asking for an action adventure shooter with a lot of trial and error harshly punishing the player for a lack of knowledge.

3 RepliesUhmm, Borderlands.

I suggest giving Division another try if you haven't already. It's gotten much better.

>Borderlands.
Or just play an MMO.
1 ReplyWait for anthem. That game is looking to be good

The only series I can think of that’s a looter shooter besides destiny and division is borderlands. And tbh I love all of them.
-
Borderlands if you’ve never played. Aside from that you’re not wrong, it’s a GREAT concept that just has yet to be nailed yet. Trial and error is what it’ll take to get what we want, it could be 2 years till someone gets it right, could be 5 or it could be a decade 🤷🏻♀️. *scrolls down* warframe isn’t anything close to a loot shooter :/ is consider that more of an action shooter/RPG hybrid of sorts. It’s not Game about loot either so I don’t see why it’d be a loot shooter.

Warframe calls for you. Its a bit of a grind tho but there cinematic story missions are way better then destiny ever will be

3 RepliesSounds like you're asking for Borderlands.

You have wait like I am for the next Borderlands game!! In the meantime, may I suggest you keep an eye out for a game called Defiance 2050 that re-releases in the summer (July I hear) for Ps4, Xbone and PC. Loot based/mmo/ 3rd person/ rpg/ shooter If your not familiar with Defiance...1) that's probably a good thing....2) you might enjoy it as I did when I played the beta a month ago. I really feel the same way you do though.....wish we had more choices for loot shooters.

2 RepliesI think Bungie was close to getting it right by the end of D1. Obviously, they decided to throw away everything they learned and start over, but it's whatever. Funny enough, the failure of D2 has inspired me to try my hand at making a Looter-Shooter. It's certainly not something I'll be able to take on any time soon, but I have a bunch of ideas that I plan on saving for the future.
-
I hope the people answering warframe realize it's not actually a looter shooter. Sure, enemies and containers drop items, but most of the time it's just ammo, money, or resources. Rarely, if ever, anything truly worthwhile.

Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 and Warframe.

Um...borderlands is easily the best looter shooter
-
Warframe
Just play DOOM it’s like the best console shooter out there rn. Idk if it’s considered a “looter-shooter” though
It's a very difficult project. The issue with games like Destiny is that they want to be "the perfect game." Setting yourself up like that, of course it won't succeed in the audience's mind. The real issue though, is that they try to do too many things. Perfect games exist, but they're perfect for what they are, as opposed to being perfect at everything, and for everyone. I don't know, I don't think one of these projects will ever succeed. I'd rather see more projects that have one or two goals, and one or two purposes, then succeed at those.

Fortnite STW has gotten so much better the last 3 months. Now is probably the best time to join.
