Crota cracked the moon.
Com destroyed a tiny bridge

xol should have never been defeated. I alone beat him? Well I did have some Rasputin help... but still

2 RepliesLuke Smith is the Darkness

Yeah com is ridiculously weak though I don’t get what she has to do with Xol?
-
24 RepliesXol is a worm God the second most powerful being next to the darkness. And we kill it in a lousy story mission that has paper thin characters

19 RepliesEdited by Astartes Marine: 5/26/2018 5:11:15 PMA couple of things to note: -We faced Crota in his own throne world, where each respective Hive is magnitudes more powerful than their physical forms. -It is widely believed that prior to their loss in the Hellmouth Eris Morn and her fireteam successfully bested Crota's physical form and banished him to the Raid. We all know what happened afterwards, but to be fair they did face the fully powered Crota without first destroying all of his tribute paths. -We also systematically dismantled Crota's power base to bring him to his knees; his warriors, his lieutenants, his second in command Omnigul that all fed him tribute and made him stronger, and then his own sword in the story mission "Sword of Crota". -Each encounter in the Raid by the sword logic made us more powerful and by the end we were worthy to face Crota. His own stupidity killed him though, his own blade. With Xol: -Before they were frozen Rasputin is said to have waged a fierce campaign against Xol and Nokris using his full arsenal of orbital weapons and the like. Ana Bray remarks that Rasputin was barely able to stop Xol the first time. That led to him doing something that drove the Hellas Basin into a deep freeze. This means that Xol, Nokris, and much of their warriors were weakened from the previous campaign and while frozen were unable to recover. -While frozen they were unable to gain strength or keep their hunger in check. -Once again we systematically dismantled Xol's power base before cutting the beast down; majors, ultras, and Nokris himself all fed tribute to their patron worm. Us being what we are we tore a path of destruction through all of it. So at the end while these beings are/were very powerful, we or another party did a ton of damage to them before even directly facing them. In the case of Xol and Nokris, I have a sneaking suspicion that our brief encounter was merely prelude, why else put so much emphasis on references to Nokris being knowledgeable of resurrection and being a rare Hive Necromancer? They'll be back, you can count on it. Remember that in Rise of Iron Omnigul undid her own death...

3 RepliesCrota raid was fun
-
2 RepliesThat is a fact plus Crota was a better encounter too
-
Xol is the weakest worm god, the Dreadnaught is made out of one of the worm gods Oryx killed, that just points out how weak xol is.
-
Crota was at the height of his power, bathing in the tributes of his spawn. Xol had just woken up from an icy slumber that had lasted hundreds of years, without tribute.
-
1 ReplyNah. Crota was a wuss. All you had to do was pull a cable to beat him.
-
5 RepliesXol was the weakest worm, Crota was the sword of the taken king, the bad bitch who killed the strongest worm.
-
Oversoul!!!!!
-
2 RepliesBut no one beats the shader monster. He spawns endless waves that can overrun you, and even if you get past the waves, destroying them one at a time will eat away at your mind like eris.
-
6 RepliesIt’s true. Also I feel like Crotas final battle was harder than xol. I’m not the only one that thinks that, right?
-
No bungie writing got cheaper

Considering Crota is Oryx's son, and Oryx killed Akka(I think it was Akka?), it'd be normal that Crota has similar strengths as his father. Would think he'd train him in some sort. And Xol is the weakest Worm God, so... Oh, and I don't really believe Xol was at his full strength... The tapeworm must've been starving. But yeah, even with full Strength, I'd think Crota would be way stronger than Xol.
-
Well yeah, it would make sense. Oryx realized how full of shit the worm gods were and proceeded to slaughter the strongest of them. View them like liches/evil wizards. Sure, they are powerful in their own right but they are much better at manipulating events over time to fit their needs. I believe it was also stated somewhere that had Crota drank the chalice of light that he would have been completely unstoppable.

5 RepliesEdited by Tâxx, Herald of the IRS: 5/26/2018 6:00:37 PMXol is weak for a worm god. He is way more dependent on his Hive troops than any other Hive leader or worm god. Edit: Plus he's a necromancer. Unlike others he can bring himself back to life. He'll be back in a future expansion.

Crota was tankin Ghally shots...Crota would ride Xol like a bull and then cut steaks out of it for Memorial day bbq for Oryx

It's hard to do much when you're frozen under the Martian landscape
