As some of us know, the Vex had an encounter with the Hive when Crota ripped a portal to the Vex dimension. I believe that the Vex, in studying the Hive, decided to model one of their own after Oryx. Just look at Panoptes! The wings...the hands...what do you guys think?

They've already done that. Quria, Blade Transformed. The vex's attempt to mimic Oryx during the battle between the vex and hive in Oryx's throne world. And he or it is still alive, funneling worship to Savathun most likely.

I think the design style to model after Oryx was on purpose, and since we know the Vex mimicked some of the hive worship, not a surprise they would mimic Oryx’ physical shape.

11 RepliesGlad I'm not the only one that thought this. They literally just put a vex skin over the oryx character model. I get what your saying for lore purposes, but in reality I think they just reskinned oryx.

2 RepliesPerhaps, but it’s hard to tell with the Vex. I will say that Panoptes does stray away from the generic Vex designs that we all know, so that means it may have a purpose besides just ruling the Infinite Forest. In terms of Panoptes copying Oryx, I doubt so. Oryx took thousands of worlds, and would always grow stronger. His wings were just a side effect of his power. Panoptes’ wings seem to have a more specialized purpose. Perhaps they are like antennas? Connecting him to all the Infinite Forest?

They saw him as the most powerful being and modeled their own most powerful being after it.

1 ReplyIt’s pronounced PEENA-LOPE

I never really thought about it until now, and it does make sense.

Noticed that. Same movements...and I think even tries to do Oryx's Doxology Clap.
-
I think if you're trying to create a larger-than-life boss character, a 16:9 television aspect ratio kinda limits your design options.

Oryx is oryx nothing more Flashbacks to taken king/RRRRREEEEEEEE

<I can see it. Panoptes is closer to Oryx physically, but Atheon is closer to Oryx in terms of power.>
