Having a recommended power level of 370 for the entirety of the event, minus the final level at 400, is harsh. The majority of players cannot even get there within the first few weeks. Here's what I believe the power level recommendations should be.
Level 1: 340
Level 2: 350
Level 3: 360
Level 4: 370
Level 5: 380
Level 6: 390
Level 7: 400
See how it's a nice incremental change with each level? This way, complete strangers can complete the first level without too much problem, and probably fight until level 3 or 4. Only then will they have to organize a 9-Man group to go all the way.
I don't care if they have to shift the rewards to be earned at the later stages, but at least it'll give players a feeling of completing a few levels rather than get obliterated before the end of level 1.

I like the difficulty, but Bungie is lying when they say it's designed for max power 3-man teams. Yes it has been 3-manned, but they're some of the best players in the world and they cheesed the boss and spent 8 hours attempting it until they succeeded once.
-
19 RepliesThis is why bungie doesnt pay attention to people in forums. We want more difficulty we say, they give us difficulty. Then suddenly its like wtf we never asked for this whybis it so hard make it easier. I literally want to facepalm every time I look in here 😐

1 ReplyBeginning at level 370 is ridiculous, got to round 3 and hit a wall, couldn't dish out enough DPS. That said, I really like Escalation Protocol. The carnage is great, chaining supers and what not. I would like to progress a little bit, doesn't have to be beating round 7 right now, but having the first round start with 340 and then adding 10 power per round would be great.
-
2 RepliesMost I've gotten through in world play with total randos is level two, almost completed level three. I'm still sub 350, so this list looks about right.
-
3 RepliesI would agree, I have played everyday since the Warmind release (Granted only about 2 hours) but still daily. My most powerful character is 350. At this rate, the next expansion will be dropping before I have any chance of beating this (Assuming I can even get nine people together).
-
That's not how it was intended though. It's an end game activity, we aren't at end game yet. It's fine how it is.
-
May I be so bold as to recommend the Power Button as opposed to level...
-
Except this is end game content designed for max light 3 man fireteams, so stop with the reeeeeeee it's to hard and grind up your levels.
-
The way things are going, I am getting very tired of EC. So what if it has some cool looking rewards? It just takes way too much effort (manipulating the pseudo matchmaking) to get 9 players and then grinding the 7 levels over and over in the hope of getting something. It's just not worth it.
-
1 ReplyI like the difficulty.....and i havent been able to complete this activity.
-
3 RepliesHow about some actual rewards for level 3 and 5. I’d rather no rewards than some tokens and blue gear.

1 ReplyEdited by K1dP5ycho: 5/23/2018 5:56:41 PMI pitched this a while ago, but I made each rewarding wave increase recommended Power by 10. So, you essentially have two normal rounds, followed by a boss round. They mentioned that they looked into Court of Oryx and Archon's Forge when designing EP, which is disappointing because the best thing about those modes was the accessibility they provided. You were able to play those activities at certain Light Levels and truly grind for loot that you may or may not have needed. But since they decided to not only make this activity purely end-game, but also render Legendaries and Exotics dropped and earned in it completely useless, it'll be a matter of time before no-one bothers to run it.

Nope escalation protocol is perfect where it is thanks .
-
3 RepliesOrganize a 9 person group? Not so straight forward
-
It’s fine, stop trying to speed run and complete Protocol at 340. It’s called ENDGAME CONTENT for a reason.
-
3 RepliesGot to Level 4 or 5 (kind of lost track, it was at least 4, cause we got the level 3 completion chest) with 6 350-360 power level Guardians including myself yesterday, At that level the enemies had skulls in their names, we took out the first wave, the second wave was too much to handle. It was fun though.
-
6 RepliesLol wut? I’m 385 and haven’t seen anyone make it past me to 390 and 400 yet...
-
i agree you are probably right. i still think they should have swapped the 3 and 7. put it at 730 maybe people will think twice about triggering it so often?
-
Edited by Angelina Sov: 5/23/2018 5:41:28 PMI don't have a problem with Escalation Protocol being very difficult. I just have a problem with how many players are needed for such a thing, outside of fireteam capacity. Increase fireteam capacity.

Perfect agree
-
5 RepliesIt's end game content. Get over it..
-
I proposed something similar, and it fell on deaf ears. I agree that this is how progression through Escalation Protocol should work, the first wave should be at the soft lv. cap ( or 10 power lower ) and then each successive wave gets more difficult than the one that preceded it.

It was advertised as end game so they arent gonna change it now this was their way of artificially extending this shallow dlc slow progression way down and stick a high ll requirement on activities

Yea so true. Also the raid should be lowered like this so I can do it without leveling up also.
