Has the reason why Osiris and Ana Bray still have ghosts ever been explained?
I left for a good 6 month period before coming back to this game, so if this has been already gone over, then I apologize for my ignorance, but why do Osiris and Ana still have ghosts (which are a guardians connection to the Light of the Traveler) if [b]WE[/b] (the player character) are the only ones who got our light back during the campaign?
Ikora still talks about she no longer has her light in the tower, and neither Zavala or Cayde display a ghost anywhere.
Ithought when Ghaul usurped the light, it was for [b][u]everyone[/u][/b] - how did these two keep their light while we all lost it?

1 Replywe are the only ones who had light during the campaign. when we killed ghaul the light was released again and all the remaining guardians received their ghost's light back. In the campaign you can even see Cayde still has his ghost. in the beginning of the story we still had our ghost before having light restored. closing off the light didnt kill the ghosts. it weakened them to where they could not revive guardians. which begs the question of what happened to the ghost who lost their guardians during the red war.

2 Replies1. Even when Ghaul trapped The Traveller and cut us off from The Light, we never lost our Ghosts. They just lost the ability to resurrect us if we died. They could only heal us if we got injured. 2. We were just the FIRST to get our Light back, because we were one of the few who were willing to heed the call from the Shard of the Traveller in the EDZ (The Vision). Everyone got it, but many were like Tyra Karne and were too frightened to risk it. 3. We killed Ghaul in the final battle in the vanilla campaign, so he was on the cusp of becoming immortal (like Guardians) because of the Light he'd stolen. So the Traveller had to awaken from its dormant state to deal with him. 4. The Traveller's awakening freed it from it's bonds, and returned the Light to Guardians who were still alive....and (if you listen to Lord Shaxx's ranting) it also enabled The Traveller to create NEW Guardians as well. 5. Remember "Ghosts live in our backpack". So when our Ghost isn't needed or has something it need to do apart from us, it de-materializes and hides itself somewhere safe. Remember if we lose our Ghost or it gets destroyed (Eris Morn) we become like any other mortal. 6. Ikora isn't talking about not having any Light any more. She is talking about how she responded to LOSING it during The Red War. She believes that losing it (correctly imo) was a TEST of Humanity and Guardians by The Traveller....and she believes by running away to Io and (in her mind) cowering in fear of losing that one life....she failed the test. So she is re-examining all of her choices and beliefs. What she fails to give herself credit for, is there is a difference between valuing life....and desperately clinging to it. When the stakes finally got high enough----when she realized what Ghaul was planning on doing with The Light, and the he was planning on destroying the entire star system----she didn't hesitate to risk it all to protect Humanity and the Traveller. So, imo, she passed it. She just took took the "long way around".

<Us and Ghosts are similar in that we can function without the Light, but weakly. Our body was revived to its full capacity, but it is strengthened by the Light. You get so used to it that when it's gone, nothing feels normal. For Ghosts it's just part of their programming. They were made with the Light in mind.>

Everyone still has ghosts, regardless if the light was lost or not...

Everyone still had a ghost even without the light. Cayde’s ghost still exists, it’s seen in a cutscene on Nessus. The ghost can heal and such, just not resurrect without the light.

its okay if you didn't understand but at the end of vanilla when the traveler awoke, everyone got their Light back. you can even see Ikora use Void light in the Osiris campaign. As for Ghosts, they remain active without the Light, even without the Light, Guardians and their Ghosts can live but cannot be resurrected. As for whether or not Osiris or Ana lost their Light, they did. Osiris was lost in the Vex gate system without his Light so when the Traveler was captured, it didn't matter in his case as he was trapped throughout time. Ana, on the other hand, did lose her Light on Mars and almost lost her hand at the same time to a Cabal Warhound. As for the Vanguard, they do have Ghost and you can see them, however, but whatever reason (most likely a lack of voice actors), their Ghosts do not ever talk to us, I think this is personal because Guardians cannot hear other Ghosts unless they speak on the radio. That's why we never hear any Ghost talk besides our own in person and the only other Ghost talks to us over coms.

In the campaign Cayde has his ghost, he pulls it down when you meet him in failsafes room. Also when we lost our light we still had our ghost. On the post in general it seems that while ghosts, like us, are connected to the Traveler they, also like us, don’t require a constant connection to function.

They just arent out right now. But anyway, are you actually trying to tell me that we are the only ones who got our light back in Vanilla? We woke up the traveler. Everyone has their light back. Not to mention, Osiris and Anna DIDN'T keep their light. They just didnt die before getting it back. Your entire post makes no sense.
