I really enjoy the game as a more slow-paced trader because I get to see all sorts of different star systems. If that aspect of the gameplay is too slow paced for you, you could always play as a pirate or bounty hunter and fight other ships with the tight combat system.

I don't really want to be involved in PvP. What else is there? Pirate, bounty hunter, trader...

Explorer. System scans sell pretty well after you get far enough away from the system, and you get to see some pretty cool stuff. With horizons dlc you can even land on planets, don't push me too hard on questions there since I never bought it
