How do I get better at sniping?
I've always had trouble with sniping. I'm pretty good at Halo (not good enough to compete in MLG(not that I'd want to anyway))
I can use any weapon fine, except the sniper rifle. I can barely get a headshot off someone who's not even moving. It's been like this since the first Halo. Any tips? I use 10 sensitivity.

[/quote] It seems ridiculous at first, but once you get killed so many times in Swat because you can't turn fast enough, you go to 9 or 10, and then you get used to it. I've found sniping much easier in Reach than in Halo 3. Dunno why but I like it. Using a higher sensitivity for a couple of weeks and then dropping it to lower is actually a fairly good way to improve. [Edited on 09.18.2010 4:11 AM PDT]

Might I just throw in that I'm fairly good with sniping and I use 10 sensitivity.

i'm -blam!- at sniping, but my accuracy shot up when i put my sensitivity up to 10, and got used to it. i got barely any kills because it's ridiculous, but once you get used to 10, you put it to about 5, and it seems really slow, and you can hone in on peoples heads better, because you're so used to the speed of 10.

I use 4 sens. Sniping is a lot easier on Reach. What I do to make sure I get a headshot is to line the reticule up with their head using the left joystick instead of the right one, since moving the right joystick moves it a lot further.

When I go down, it feels way too slow though, and I die before I get a chance to fire at someone behind me.

Use 3-5 in sensitivity. Or only when you are playing team snipers or so. And if you are having a tough time getting headshots you can do twoshots.

Do Sniperfight in Firefight. See if you can shoot off the turrets on the Phantoms as well. Not only do you get points for it, but you'll also get the First Strike medal if you can do it before anyone else. Challenge: On Overlook, shoot off the turrets from the Phantoms that appear over the cliffs over on the river side. Tough, but I've done it a handful of times. [Edited on 09.18.2010 4:08 AM PDT]

Hemorrhage is awesome for sniping do Invasion Slayer and practice there.

I'd try turning your sensitivity down, considering especially if your zooming in, a nudge of the joystick makes all the difference.

Crank down the sensitivity my friend! I use 1 sensitivy and im pretty good. Ive actually gotten better at sniping since Reach landed. the only other thing I can tell you is practice practice practice

dont use 10 i use 3 and snipe just fine
