First off, my disc seems to be working fine but this is one weird problem. Going through the campaign on Legendary for the first time, most of the time after a mission would not load and go to the next one (as it is doing for me on heroic). Whenever I beat a mission on Legendary it seems it would dashboard me and say "disc unreadable" (the usual) but after loading it back up I can continue onto the next mission (thank bungie). I did not/do not seem to want to wade through the tons of pages of the disc problem thread (also it seems the disc just won't work for those people so I think mine might be irrelevant). I'm wondering if anyone might have the same problem. Installing to the drive isn't really a solution because I have less than 4 gigs left on my drive and i'm sure Halo:Reach is bigger than that.
